The Dodgers last night signed their third-round selection from the draft, right-handed pitcher Brett Wallach, who is the son of Triple-A Albuquerque manager and former Dodger Tim Wallach. Brett was drafted out of Orange Coast College in nearby Costa Mesa , where he went 10-1 with four saves and a 2.26 ERA in 2009 en route to being named Orange Empire Conference Player of the Year. Brett's older brother, Matt Wallach, is now playing for the Dodgers’ Single-A Great Lakes affiliate.

Neat!
I wonder if both Wallach brothers will move through the system fast enough to get to Albuquerque while their dad is still there. That’d be neat.
Nice
Figured Wallach would be an easy sign with the family connections and all. Looking forward to following him in the box scores!
Maybe Eli Wallach can watch them…The Good (Brett), The Dad (Tim), and The Ugly (Matt, the catcher)?

We’d get a bid boost in page views if he attacks me. :)
Actually, I had to fit him somewhere and since he wears the tools of ignorance he had to go in the “ugly” pile. This is a relative term, of course.

Brett Wallach was introduced at the stadium last night. Lasorda was the Dodger ambassador shaking his hand on the Dodgervision screen. Wallach got a nice hand, but nothing near what Pau Gasol got!
Was Wallach sitting with the McCourts? I think I saw Lasorda talking to him on the TV broadcast in the background at the start of one of the innings. New USC Board of Trustees member Jamie was there too.

I think so, but I didn’t have binoculars to confirm that.
I didn’t need binoculars to confirm where Gasol was when he stood up.
