Around SBN: Devils Beat Rangers, Head To Stanley Cup Finals

The game recap will follow soon, but I just wanted to point out the runs given up in Clayton Kershaw's last seven starts:

0, 0, 2, 0, 0, 1, 0

Kershaw is 5-0 over those 7 starts with a 0.63 ERA.

Pretty nice article on Kershaw, but Simers is myopic regarding his disdain for most of the staff.

And James McDonald?

Any idea what TJ has against McDonald?

by Penos Cabell on Jul 18, 2009 11:13 PM PDT up reply actions

But from what I understand, Weaver, Leach, Elbert, Belisario, Stults, Milton, Ohman, Vargas, McDonald and Mota are available, the quicker you can get them out of my sights the better.

I think he just picked names of pitchers with ERAs over 3.75

Ooops, that’s a Simers quote.

by Tripon on Jul 18, 2009 11:16 PM PDT up reply actions

I know this is Simers...

but I’m not sure what his issue is with a 2.42 ERA…

by bucknellbruin on Jul 19, 2009 8:49 AM PDT up reply actions

Clueless Simers as usual, calling our rookie relievers “stiffs” is pretty professional of him.

Simers is hilarious

Even TJ has a hard time saying something bad about Kershaw.

We are watching this kid blossom into a great pitcher.

I hate missing games, I hate missing games even more when Kershaw pitches. How was he, did he start off rocky in the 1st? Did he keep his pitch count low? Details?

by shoothoop on Jul 18, 2009 11:13 PM PDT reply actions

The hilight for me was Clayton striking out Hunter Pence to end the 7th inning with a beautiful 72 mph curve.

by Penos Cabell on Jul 18, 2009 11:17 PM PDT up reply actions

oh man

i actually started laughing when that happened…

by bucknellbruin on Jul 19, 2009 8:42 AM PDT up reply actions

It was hard not to laugh. Thank god for DVR, I had to watch that a few times.

Question For Guys In L.A.

How much do you pay for a haircut?

I go to a “stylist” and pay $13.95 Canadian. If I went to a barber it would probably be about $10.00. I find it hard to believe Kershaw couldn’t find a place where the cost of a haircut isn’t ridiculous, but then I don’t know L.A..

by CanuckDodger on Jul 18, 2009 11:36 PM PDT reply actions

If you go to a barber, it shouldn't cost more than $15

and that’s for one of those specialty barber shops that people go to be ‘hip’.
