Halladay Absurdity
Jon Heyman tweets that the Jays asked the Yankees for Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, and two more players in exchange for Roy Halladay. With that, I think I'd officially bow out of the Halladay sweepstakes were I a major league general manager.

not that absurd
jays have made it known to the yankees and red sox that they’d have to pay a premium for halladay b/c toronto really do not want to deal him within its own division.
True
Still, that’s a hell of a lot to pay for a year and two months of one player, admittedly a great one. Given that there were reports of a “Hughes, Jackson, and Montero for Halladay” demand earlier, I doubt the other two players were slouches.

and now
8:14pm: Ray Parrillo and Jim Salisbury of The Philadelphia Inquirer report that the Phillies “were trying to steer the Blue Jays” towards a package centered around Carrasco and infielder Jason Donald.
carrasco and donald…the 2 most overrated prospects in the world. they had much more value in the beginning of the year then now
