Maybe…J-Mac will probably pitch another inning if they don’t score.

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:12 PM PDT up reply actions

is he going to get the LOOGY treatment?

This can't hurt for the weekend

Prado got hit by a line drive on the left ankle in pregame warmups and has been taken for x-rays, SportsSouth reports. Prado wasn’t in the original starting lineup, but might have come into Thursday’s game once Yunel Escobar got hurt but for this injury.
Yunel Escobar (SS) ATL 7/30/2009
Escobar left Thursday night’s game against the Marlins after getting hit on the right wrist or hand by a pitch. This comes at a really bad time for Escobar on the Braves. Not only was Escobar on fire at the plate, but Martin Prado got hurt before the game, cutting into the Braves’ depth.

Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen

by Phil Gurnee on Jul 30, 2009 8:17 PM PDT reply actions

So we can hit it to SS with no cares!

He’s saying it ironically, or just to be funny.

Fail.

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:30 PM PDT up reply actions

ya i feel like it was intended to be along the lines of

“lakers up by a touchdown” or something like that…but it didnt really sound right

O.A.

by Ollie on Jul 30, 2009 8:32 PM PDT up reply actions

Note to Eric Collins (and sometimes Lyons): please don’t call runs “points”

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:28 PM PDT reply actions

i love u Kempy

cant say the same for u loney

by Kenchanayoh on Jul 30, 2009 8:29 PM PDT reply actions

Huh? Didn't Thurston get released in 2004?

Loney and Thurston might have hanged out for a couple of years at best.

by Tripon on Jul 30, 2009 8:29 PM PDT reply actions

I was thinking the same thing…they must have really bonded in 2003 :)

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:30 PM PDT up reply actions

Thurston

Walks.

Misses first base.

by Voxx on Jul 30, 2009 8:30 PM PDT reply actions

I'm lost

As to why he hasn’t been DFA’d. The fuckup last night was hardly his first base running blunder.

by Voxx on Jul 30, 2009 8:32 PM PDT up reply actions

It’s fucking Joe Thurston…c’mon!

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:31 PM PDT reply actions

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:32 PM PDT reply actions

sherrill should be the closer on the road

broxton at home

seriously joe torre should consider this

by prosellis on Jul 30, 2009 8:33 PM PDT reply actions

i was never a broxton fan

he either blows u away, or u hit it over the fence

by Kenchanayoh on Jul 30, 2009 8:34 PM PDT up reply actions

That’s not really true at all. He’s been among the best relievers in MLB for three plus years in allowing HR

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:35 PM PDT up reply actions

or we could just be overreacting to one walk

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:33 PM PDT reply actions

close one manny

Where would the Clippers be without Sean Rooks?

by Regulan on Jul 30, 2009 8:33 PM PDT reply actions

Holy Shit

Brox has a 6.3 ERA on the road and .34 at home

by SeanMillerSavior on Jul 30, 2009 8:33 PM PDT reply actions

I agree.

Relax, give the man your support, and jump for joy when he finishes these chumps off.

by Jesse S. on Jul 30, 2009 8:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Seriously. If Broxton is healthy, he closes all the time. If he’s not he doesn’t. Its that simple.

His bad outings happened to be on the road, and were when he was hurt.

by Eric Stephen on Jul 30, 2009 8:36 PM PDT up reply actions

they u somehow got another closer

sherrill is the insurance plan if broxton slumps

im glad we reenforced the pen

Baseball Is a Very Very Crazy Sport

Hits During the Series

Dodgers = 45
St Louis = 36

And we come away with 1 win and three losses.

FU Baseball gods!

Just bad luck, team is fine.

by Dodger Dude on Jul 30, 2009 8:46 PM PDT reply actions

thats wat happens when u have a power outtage

sure u can have 2 singles in one inning

doesnt mean u are gonna score.

st louis gets a walk, then hits a homer

now u know why we lost

What Have You Done for Me Lately

“mannys been cold lately”

Yeah, what has he done in the last week. Bum.

Kemp is absolutely our best hitter that hasn’t been suspended for 50 games this year.

by Dodger Dude on Jul 30, 2009 8:50 PM PDT reply actions

“I’m not saying definitively,” Ricciardi told ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark when asked if Halladay would remain with the Jays. “I’m just saying it’s looking more and more like he’ll be here. We’re waiting to be blown away, and we haven’t been.”

Ready to face Hanson tomorrow???

Things could get ugly tomorrow. Here’s a little preview to get you gassed for tomorrows game.

i hate him personally

the people on espn are all over his nutes

by matthewmafa on Jul 30, 2009 9:29 PM PDT up reply actions

Just finished watching Kuo in 8th

man that looked like 2008 all over again. Torre 1 LaRussa 0 in this game. How do pitch to Kemp with a base open and Ausmus on deck. One of the sweeter wins of the year.

Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen

by Phil Gurnee on Jul 30, 2009 9:29 PM PDT reply actions

pujols is so good that

i would rather pitch to holiday at his hottest then pujols with a chance to win the game… thats how good pujols is. Kemp still has holes in his swing that you can take adavantage of. He just came through and was very clutch today

by matthewmafa on Jul 30, 2009 11:08 PM PDT up reply actions

Eyechart = 4 for 6 tonight

His activation will spell the end of Jason Repko on the 40-man roster, me thinks.

by silverwidow on Jul 30, 2009 9:33 PM PDT reply actions

Unless we clear a few spots by trading some 40-man guys for Halladay, of course :)
