Minor Trades
The Red Sox have traded Adam Laroche to the Braves for Casey Kotchman.
The Reds have traded Jerry Hairston Jr. to the Yankees.
And the Nationals traded former Dodger Joe Beimel to the Rockies. Am I the only one who doesn't want to see Beimel on a division rival?
The Reds have traded for Blue Jays third basmen Scott Rolen pending his approval. The Reds reportedly sent Edwin Encarnacion and Yonder Alonso to the Jays. Seems like a good haul.
Nick Johnson has been traded to the Marlins for Double-A pitcher Aaron Thompson.

So Kotchman for LaRoche
Why is the question for either team?
Sox – Youk, Victor, and Lars Anderson – why simply swap 1st baseman?
I guess the idea would be
that Victor becomes the regular catcher next year, Youk to 3rd, Kotchman to 1st?

Gammons says
the Red Sox don’t think LaRoche can handle not getting regular at bats, while Kotchman can.
thats a good trade for the yankees
now they can DFA the worthless and useless cody ransom
Yep
Heyman said on MLB Network that he might have already approved the deal.
