Hudson is batting 7th for the first time since August 20, 2006. He batted 7th a lot during that first season in Arizona, and has batted 7th 113 times in his career before tonight.

Not a big fan

of purposely getting thrown out on the bases to get the infield to cutoff the throw and let the runner score in a situation like that. Sure if it was the go ahead run late in the game or something.

If he stays at second, then Kemp is given the IBB and Wolf makes the last out. By getting thrown out, Hudson has given Kemp a chance to get a solo shot to lead off the 2nd.

I looked on Bill James Online…

Dodgers are +24 in “baserunning gain,” which measures extra bases taken versus outs, opportunities. That is tied for 6th in MLB with AZ.

Looks they have made 23 outs on the bases (non steals) before tonight.

I think they are just playing an overall aggressive style that so far has paid off.

It’s not even clear to me that Toronto needs to trade Halladay at all, so it will take a lot to make them want to do a deal.

OTOH, J. P. Riccardi can be had. Just ask B. J. Ryan and his agent.

If Claudio Vargas or Guillermo Mota throw one more perfect inning, I’m going to lose it.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game and I have no more faith left in this team, but I will still absolutely freaking lose it.
