2-0 is a real hole vs lincecum
go dodgers

by shaqfor3 on Aug 12, 2009 2:34 PM PDT reply actions

sandoval was pissed off because

in his first 2 at bats the dodgers were pitching up and in. then he finally got hit or hit himself then he just got pissed and tried to act tough

by matthewmafa on Aug 12, 2009 2:35 PM PDT reply actions

He was giving a gentle reminder of his prowess against RHB. Over the long run, the one run was a small price to pay :)

by Eric Stephen on Aug 12, 2009 2:37 PM PDT up reply actions

more evidence that

he’s not a lefty specialist.

by oshea2002 on Aug 12, 2009 2:41 PM PDT reply actions

dodgers are going to score in the 7th

the last time we faced tim he fell apart in the 7th plus we got the heart of our line up this time

by matthewmafa on Aug 12, 2009 2:41 PM PDT reply actions

Dodgers get the lead in the seventh and Haeger goes for the three inning save!

by TurnItDown on Aug 12, 2009 2:44 PM PDT up reply actions

I wish blake was hitting 8th

or at least 7th right now, I’m afraid every time i see him come up now that he will just ground into a dp after watching the first 2 for strikes.

by Ivdown on Aug 12, 2009 2:42 PM PDT reply actions

I think we could go to a 1-man bench, so we can have a 16-man pitching staff. That way, if any pitcher throws a ball Torre can remove him then, before the sign of any trouble :)

by Eric Stephen on Aug 12, 2009 2:44 PM PDT up reply actions

That could work.

we could sign some Brooks Kieschnick type guys who can spot start in the OF too.

by oshea2002 on Aug 12, 2009 2:46 PM PDT up reply actions

and trade for Ankiel…StL doesn’t need him anymore! :)

by Eric Stephen on Aug 12, 2009 2:46 PM PDT up reply actions

Halving the lead in an inning with the 8-9-1-2 batter against Lincecum is pretty good.

by David Young on Aug 12, 2009 2:44 PM PDT reply actions

Ha! For some reason I read that as “foreplay” at first :)

by Eric Stephen on Aug 12, 2009 2:46 PM PDT up reply actions

Well look on the bright side

Maybe Lincecum will sprain an ankle or jam a finger running the bases

by StolenMonkey86 on Aug 12, 2009 2:46 PM PDT reply actions

they are going to look like B*tches….

by oshea2002 on Aug 12, 2009 2:52 PM PDT reply actions

It's really terrible

that the Giants have all of 2 runs and Lincecum’s lead looks as safe as if they had a 5 run lead.

by Ivdown on Aug 12, 2009 2:54 PM PDT reply actions

nnope the dodgers are just

1 bloop and 1 blast away from winning this game

by matthewmafa on Aug 12, 2009 2:55 PM PDT up reply actions

Lincecum is at 88 pitches through 7

or just over 12.5 per inning. He’ll have to get into some serious trouble before they take him out of this game.

by David Young on Aug 12, 2009 2:57 PM PDT up reply actions

Not sure of Hudson’s availability, but I would guess they don’t PH for Castro because nobody to play 2B (I’m aware of Loretta)

We’re not going to steal this one on Brian Wilson unless the Dodgers get Lincecum in trouble first.

two-out walk to guarantee Lincecum’s spot comes up in the bottom of the eight. Maybe Bochy’s replacement will blunder and hit for him.

by David Young on Aug 12, 2009 3:06 PM PDT up reply actions

That's exactly what they've gotta do

Also I would love to see a double by Loney to start the inning and then a single (or double…or triple or hr, lol) in a gap so Loney can score. That might be enough to drive Lincecum out of the game…maybe.

His pitching isn't what bothers me

He’s an elite pitcher (still glad we took Kershaw over him in 06) and he pitches well under pressure. Oh well, we’ve had to face that before.

His hair really makes me not like him, it’s just freaking annoying.

by Ivdown on Aug 12, 2009 3:20 PM PDT up reply actions

that was a horrible call for strike 3

on loney… we got robbed on a couple of balls and strike calls today… lincecum is already a great pitcher and now he has a strike zone as big as jaimie moyers

has anyone noticed

giants are taking an incredible amount of pitches for the least disciplined team in the league

Shows how much faith the Giants have in Lincecum.

They’d rather sacrifice an out than put in a PH and try to pad the lead.

Whether or not the effectiveness is apt, just about 100% of managers use the sacrifice to pad the lead.

by Eric Stephen on Aug 12, 2009 3:26 PM PDT up reply actions

i would love a home run

the only problem is loretta furcal and martin are coming up and they have a combined total of less then 10 and lincecum has only given up 6 homers all year….

I find it hard to complain about losing a game on such small calls—if you can’t win against a bang/bang play or a series of bad calls, it’s out of the complain-about-third-party realm.

Kemp's fine.

He threw his arms up to hold himself up the wall to protect himself.

why throw sandoval a first pitch fastball WHEN YOU KNOW hes going to swing?

The news about Broxton scares me.

Only threw a couple before sitting down?

by Tripon on Aug 12, 2009 3:48 PM PDT reply actions

When was he throwing? If it was last half-inning, he was probably just preparing for a lead that didn’t come, then stopped when the inning was over.

We can't really complain about Sandoval

He’s OPSING less than .600 against us this year.
