Haegermeister Continuation Thread
Six shots of Haegermeister was enough. That 7th shot really stung, when Rick Ankiel broke everybody's heart with a home run that hasn't landed yet. 3-2 Cardinals, 7th inning stretch...

It's not like Haeger's been overworking
He’s at 80 pitches. It’s still technically a quality outing. And honestly, how much did we expect of him today?

He gave up 3 runs in 7 innings
that’s an excellent outing from him as far as I’m concerned.

yup
i was just thinking that… great start by haegar…
you cant blame this on joe torre…. haegar was cruising and hes supposed to be an innings eater
its not his fault the dodgers can only score 2 runs
The Dodgers will pull ahead in the bottom of the inning, Charlie Haeger will get the win
And the Blue Rocker will celebrate with shots of Cabo Wabo.
The funny thing is I knew what that was gonna be even before I clicked on it :)

Our shot is in the 9th IMO
I don’t really fancy Ausmus, Slappy/Loretta, Furcal doing something v. Carp, but O Dog, Ethier, Manny v. Franklin could work
Ausmus, Slappy, Eckstein

Carpenter should send the tape of this game to the BBWA…Dodger hitters are locking up the Cy Young for him. (Better a Cardinal than the Freak I guess.)

but it would be nice if he took the next 2 days off :)

you cannot blame joe torre for leaving haegar in....
he was cruising…..
but you can blame him for bunting with martin and wasting pierres speed
I'm with BH - Martin bunting is not something I'm going to worked up over
Carpenter was not going to walk him and that was his only chance of getting on base.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
i want martin swinging the bat after pierre steals
martin still hits a ton of line drives and hes been getting unlucky this year hitting line drives at people
I doubt if Pierre could steal 2nd against Molina
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
This is Yadier Molina behind the plate not Mike Piazza
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
No…steal 2nd, push ball 2 right side to get him to 3rd. Or hit and run
by KellyStephen on Aug 17, 2009 9:19 PM PDT up reply actions
You gotta figure that facing the Card’s ace with a SP we had just brought up we has a relatively low probability of winning. It is just maddening how it seems like every loss is close.
haegar can pitch on thursday too
cant knucklers pitch everyday or something?
i do not want elbert pitching to the all righty lineup the cubs have… i dont have a good feeling about that
If they score this insurance run
im gonna be pissed

Andre is so bad v. lefties that if he sees a good pitch, he needs to swing
it’s irrelevant anyways, we weren’t winning either way

With the pitching matchup, how many actually thought we had a good chance tonight? Tomorrow the tables are turned with the matchup.
I don’t know what you mean. It has been a blast!
by Eric Stephen on Aug 17, 2009 9:32 PM PDT up reply actions
I'm actually serious about this
If Joe can finagle the final week into tanking the division to win the WC, whatever, to avoid playing StL and a first round sweep, do it.
yes it landed
like 5 seconds after he hit it….
Well Eric
We always wondered what people would do during a slump.
But that has been quite a run of pitching this team has seen. And alternatively, not a good time for the Dodgers throw out first time starters.
Dodger pitching was NOT the problem tonight
by KellyStephen on Aug 17, 2009 9:36 PM PDT up reply actions
But tonight the pitching wasn’t the problem. Giving up 3 runs to the Cardinals should be a win. Tonight it wasn’t.

amazing
kuroda can be able to pitch after missing a few rotations
considering he wasnt wearing a helmet and how hard that ball was hit…
6 hits in 3 innings
a homer another off the wall and the announcer said the first 5 hits were all hard hit balls and 4 of them line drives….
but 8 ks is good too
