Jeff Weaver To Start Thursday
Joe Torre said on tonight's KABC pregame show that Jeff Weaver would start on Thursday against the Cubs, in Hiroki Kuroda's spot in the rotation. In addition, Kuroda's return to the starting rotation is unknown, and no decision has been made on whether or not to place him on the disabled list.
In six spot starts this season, Weaver is 2-1 with a 3.08 ERA, although he has averaged just 4.39 innings per start.
Torre also said that Charlie Haeger earned at least another start with his performance last night, which means he will likely start Saturday against the Cubs.
Matt Kemp has flu-like symptoms, which is why he is not in tonight's starting lineup.
