Early crisis averted here in the Midwest
Initially had a meeting scheduled at the unfortunate interval of 6-830 pm CT – which led to me bringing a laptop with plans of streaming the first hour of the game on MLB.tv rather than paying attention…but it managed to go just an hour (most of which was spent browsing TBLA’s archives – thanks to Eric, Phil and many posters who kept me captivated for said hour).
Ready to catch the start of what should be a great series uninhibited. Kershaw on the mound. Life is good.

Furcal needs to get on base
dont ground out or pop up please…
LETS GO DODDGERSS!!!!!!!!!
they said on the pregame show
hes trying to hit the ball out of the park on the 1st swing which is why hes been struggling
so yes thats they key….
kershaw better find ways to lower his pitch count
hitters of late have been madly fouling pitches and making him work the count
he needs to strike em out when he gets ahead in da count
I have it working also
but I’m in Missouri.

lol just what i was typing
too short for Torre’s liking lol
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
Iannetta waaaay slow on that, thought Ethier would have been toast.

not baseball related but has anyone seen this?

microsoft polish site: http://www.microsoft.com/poland/businessproductivity/default.mspx
one of these things are not like the other
Nice to see Ethier with another hit with RISP (13 of his last 21). I thought for sure he’d be toast at 2B.

Ianettea and Eric Young Jr. Just screwed up that play.
Young wasn’t going to catch Kemp at home, and Ianetta did his best Russell Martin impression.
Is the KCAL 2 or 3 ticks off
I thought Kershaw sat at 95
by SeanMillerSavior on Aug 25, 2009 5:55 PM PDT reply actions
No, it was a pitch down near the dirt, but it was an obvious fastball and stright like hell.
It looked like around 92-93.
it was a slider
his slider just isnt fully developed and it slipped
13 pitches, 10 for strikes.
You wanna know how great baseball is? The greatest basketball player ever left his sport to play baseball.
Kershaw seemed focused as hell out there
hes like gimme the ball and let me pitch b*tches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Russell Martin...

No, no… there’s no logic to that. If he decreases his pitches thrown by 5 every inning…
20 in the first
15 in the second
10 in the third
5 in the fourth
BULLPEN for innings 5 – 9
:)

Hammel really throwing
2 pitches. Key is to layoff that tight curve/slider. He hasn’t been locating that fastball well yet. Conversely, so long as Clayton locates his fastball, he is in good shape.
kershaw showing a nasty slider today
some took like change ups though … so he might be throwing out all of his 4 pitch arsenal today…. if he can command all 4… hes unhittable
Need to tell Manny too,
since he has been swinging at a ton of pitches early in counts.
That was not cool, Loney. Even Kershaw had a better AB than you.
You wanna know how great baseball is? The greatest basketball player ever left his sport to play baseball.
cause hes like juan pierre
he tries to slap for base hits
All season
he has been like that. He no lower body drive. Don’t know if it is an injury or a mechanical thing, but he cannot generate any power and consequently swings at bad pitches.
Loney just
looks completely out of sync at the plate. He is getting absolutely no drive with his legs.
All three outs came on first pitch or 0-1 counts.
Torre basically said as much the other day
You can tell he thinks this is a lost year for James and he won’t get right till the offseason. We simply have no other options at this point (eyechart maybe?)
5 hits and one run, looks like we're in for another thriller
i’d feel so much better if we were told everyone was on roids and now isn’t, this is like watching a team make a horrendous attempt at playing small ball
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
can anyone make out what the big blue blanket to the left of home plate is for? Is it a guy in a wheel chair?
Was it Torre or Mattingly?
Mentioning how James keeps moving his feet around in the box, and that they think that’s part of his troubles.
I only ask b/c I haven't noticed it.
I’m not questioning Joe – I just haven’t seen it.
I noticed he is starting his feet very early.
Look at that toe tap he does at the beginning. Its so early, it is like he is on his front foot before the pitch is thrown.
yeahhhhhhhh
ive been saying for a long time…. his toe tap is taking away all the power….. he is not generating any force with his lower body… only with his arms
BAHHHHH I wanted to watch
I’m in stupid class though

kershasw swings harder then loney
and looks to drive the ball better too
Kershaw getting a lot of first pitch strikes.
I know its obvious, but that is especially key for Clayton.
esp with a team that walks an absolute pile like the Rockies

George Foster (?) is abysmal.
damn man
does russell really think that helton will miss 2 fastball in a row…. hes too professional a hitter… come on russell i was defending you today and you do this to me
Sheesh, that was quick
he’s given up 1 whole hit so far

these 81 MPH pitches are not curves
they are his slider
Thought those were change ups
that he turns over a little.
Just going by gameday
that called the first two breaking ball to Tulo curves and the last one a slider.
bULLSHIT
clayton does not give up fucking homeruns…. OINLY IN MOTHERFUCKING COORS FIELD HE GIVES UP FUCKING HOMERUNS

clayton has given up 6 homers on the year in 25 starts
3 of the homers have come in coors… there is a reason for that…
plus dont say coors isnt a big time hitters park…. EVERY positiion player on your roster is a all star at home and a bench player on the road…
Runs and home runs are different things
Coors gives up runs? Yes
Coors gives up home runs? No, not any more.
by Michael White on Aug 25, 2009 6:59 PM PDT up reply actions
theres a reason kershaws gives up homers
its cause of coors
or our hitters are pretty decent
that homer was a homer in 30/30
