Thoughts from a Dodgerfan

I saw where Bard Penny is signing with the San Francisco Giants. Normally I would worry about this but Brad Penny has shown in the past, that he just isn't up to snuff. We all know how he ended his Dodger career, upset because he didn't get a pay raise and some extra years on a contract. Which, for all the dumb moves Colletti has made, was a pretty smart move not to give Penny the money he wanted. Penny had some not so nice comments before the big blue door hit him in his bitter @ss and who can forget the comments from Larry Bowa?   ``You mean the same guy who was never on time, out of shape and has one complete game? He has more stuff to worry about in the A.L. East than me. He has to worry about getting people out. He was never on time, was out of shape and never helped the kids out. Put that on the (expletive) dot-com. Put it in the headline.''

``He never watched the game (when he was on the DL). Jason Schmidt watched the games. Nomar Garciaparra watched the games. Mark Sweeney watched the games. You go right down the line, everybody who was on the DL watched the games. But not him. He was out of there.I'm in everybody's corner when they work. When they're lazy and don't work. I could give a (bleep).''

Love Larry Bowa...so Penny takes his show over to Boston and signs for $5 million and of course, he wears out his welcome and the BoSux let him take a walk. Should we fear Penny? Depends, hopefully S.F. get the brad Penny who was 1-5 with a 6.98 ERA in the last few starts. He may be the thing the Dodgers need to keep the Giants at bay for the rest of the year, I predecit that p[enny will implode and make himself a fool in Frisco.

Ronnie Belliard, some might like this trade but I am not sure where the Dodgers are going with this one. Maybe this is a little bit insurance if Orlando Hudson leaves? Maybe his true value will be seen during the off-season. He is a free agent at the end of the year but he could be brought back at a very reasonable rate. Looking at his stats, he is a nice player who is having a down year. Nice to have on the bench but necessary? I think not. This may not be a good indication for the future of Blake Dewitt who may be traded in the off-season.

The Dodgers play the D-Backs tonight and in the Espinoza household, it is ON!!!! The wife is a Diamondback fan so we are going to grill up some food, drink some beers and watch the D-Backs get swept!!!! Hopefully the bed won't be to cold the next few days....
