Jason Schmidt on DL; Scott Elbert Starts Sunday
We already knew the Dodgers had called up Tony Abreu for tonight's game; we just didn't know what the corresponding roster move was. Now we do.
Jason Schmidt has been placed on the disabled list, per the Dodger pregame show, with a "shoulder issue," according to manager Joe Torre.
As for Abreu, Torre noted "we're not sure if he's going to stay up here three days or three weeks," but that for the time being the roster will contain 12 pitchers, down from 13.
The other piece of news was that Hiroki Kuroda was pushed back to Monday, to give him an extra day of rest. Starting in his place on Sunday will be Scott Elbert, making his first major league start. True Blue LA will be there to cover it!
That's right, I buried the lead.

I don’t believe they hand out free Heineken Light bottles with courtside seats at an NBA game. At the very least, they don’t hand them out in glass bottles.
I feel lied to by Madison Ave.

Great play by Cristian Guzman in Washington, but the AZ runner was safe at first, easily. A.J. Hinch is going crazy, and Jerry Crawford is giving it right back! Crawford should absolutely get suspended for his actions.
Crazy family of refs!
