This weekend represented the final knockout blow for a few pretenders to the throne - Texas, Florida, Atlanta, the Cubs, and the Giants all needed sweeps to stay in the realistic playoff hunt, and all failed. There's just a smidgen of drama left in the AL Central (like last year), but I seriously doubt that anyone thinks that the Yankees will have a problem with the Twins of Chisox on the slim chance that they overtake Los Tigres del Norte in the final two weeks.
So what do baseball fans do (besides watching football and plotting out our NBA seasonal O/U bets)?
We argue over postseason starters and contemplate matchups against opposing starters!
Let's move the first big argument along...
Obviously, we don't know if Joe will give Bills another start in the next two weeks, if he'll use him out of the pen, how he'll pitch, or a variety of other factors... But I would submit to you that all of the following games are scrub games, and that it really doesn't matter if we win the homefield advantage in the slightest (and would almost suggest it is a liability given last October and the pre-ASG road romp by the Phils).
