Apparently not
But then again outside of the Yankees, no one is playing great ball.
Not that it matters.

Maybe we're throwing these games
and hoping that Philly finishes with a better record than st. louis, thats what im sticking to
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
if russell martin bats this inning

Its been called all night
because it was a strike. right down the middle.
Andre is one streaky bugger

Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
maybe he needs a rest
him and matt kemp are top 3 in innings played in the outfield…
not only does joe overwork his relievers… he kills his outfielders
so now we want MORE Pierre? :)

The Dodgers outfield, which has been the only real source of offense from the Dodgers this year, has gone into a giant funk. This offense is screwed without them. All i see Ethier doing is popping up to the third base seats, and he isn’t hitting after he keeps on fouling shit off. Kemp seems to just be grounding to third a bunch. Manny, well, Manny is just not good right now.
This offense is killing the Dodgers.
Kemp
has actually been hitting the ball fairly well lately. It’s just been going right at people.

at this point watching them celebrate wouldnt even be all that satisfying

Their play is inspiring no confidence
Despite Eric’s post earlier, I feel no sense that this team is going to turn it on in the playoffs.
Well, the facts can be spun the other way to
If prior seasons are some kind of predictor of the post season this year, then certainly prior games (i.e. the last 7) can be a predictor of the next 5). So the fact is, the Dodgers offense is sucking.
for all we know
a bunch of bloop hits are gonna fall in the playoffs, the other team will hit liners at us all day, we’ll get a bunch of breaks and win. That’s what happens in the playoffs. the team that gets the breaks wins.

i couldn't care less how they win
as long as they do eventually. The postseason is a total crapshoot. It doesn’t matter how we’re playing now, tomorrow, in 4 days. All that matters is once the playoffs start…which, in case we forget, we’re ALREADY IN

exactly why to me, this final division clinching win really means nothing

ya its just kinda lost its allure
I mean the heartbreaking blown save kinda set us into a tail spin, and now im just sitting here anxiously waiting for it to happen
what i meant is for me, it wont be a celebration, it will just be a relief
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
Because you'd rather see a weak ground ball to 2nd
then a chance for a double to right center field.

At least Laker Media Day was today
watch some of the vids and it’ll cheer you up big time
.309/.408/.418 since September 11
Not exactly the mid 1.100 OPS he has put up all season, but I think that line is better than all but 2 or 3 Dodgers in that same time, if that.
LOL
Hes from Dominican Republic, same place where Manny is from

He’s still hitting though. If Manny or Ethier or Kemp were still getting hits and helping the team, then there would be no problem. But all 3 have been on and off (mostly off lately), while Pujols is still the mother-effing man!

I knew his OBP was that high, but it’s only because it’s been easier for teams to walk him lately and pitch to whoever is behind him, which recently has been Kemp.
And actually, since Pujols hit his last homerun, Manny is hitting .250/.434/.475. Yes, it is better. But Idk where you get your stats on that or why you think his numbers have been like that in the time since Pujols last homered, which is what this little debate has been about.
I just baseball reference
because they have 7 14 and 21 day splits. Manny has out hit Pujols by a good amount over the last 14 days and you said he has sucked. Big difference.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen

see now in the playoffs
that piece of shit hit might happen to us. or it might keep happening against us, in which case we’d be screwed.
Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?
the Dodgers 5-5 has been particularly woeful, though
given the opposing teams, and the WAY they’ve played. Cards & Phils have been so-so, but the Dodgers….yikes.
Here’s to hoping they’re just getting it out of their system!
joe torre is a joke
i really dont like the guy at all
thats ousnds even more sarcastic...and it is right?
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
no it aint
joe torre is a damn idiot… he doesnt light a fire under his team ever by argueing, he doesnt give his outfielders enough rest, he overworks his relievers all the time… i really cant wait until he is gone..
are you serious?

not because of joe
because of our talented team
I want Manny and Kemp to shut me up right now
Nothing would make me happier than seeing them smash the shit out of the ball right now, and then have Loney join in as well.

And I am more depressed now than when Manny went down with the suspension earlier this season.
I haven’t lost faith, but the absolute lack of hitting is really troubling.

If Garland gives up 3 runs in 6 innings tomorrow, but gets the win,
let’s NOT talk about how he should be the 4th starter in the Postseason.

The Dodgers losing tomorrow and the Rockies winning tomorrow and Thursday = 0.0000000000000000000000000000001 percent?
I don’t think so.

I said chances of the NL West being at stake this weekend
That means, STARTING FRIDAY. The chances are NOT zero percent.
by silverwidow on Sep 29, 2009 10:04 PM PDT up reply actions
The chance of Rox winning division is *very* small
The chance of Dodgers not clinching before Friday is probably at least 35-40%. Richard isn’t a bad young pitcher, and the Brewers are throwing trash scubs at us the next two days.
Friday should be very interesting.
Odds are far better that Dodgers win tomorrow than the Rox losing either of next two games, though.

zero percent
no chance…. no way the dodgers are loosing the nl west
by matthewmafa on Sep 29, 2009 10:15 PM PDT up reply actions
If we go extreme and assume the Rockies have a 70% chance of winning their two remaining home games, and assume the Padres have a 70% chance of beating the Dodgers tomorrow, the chances of heading into Friday with the NL West at stake are 34.3%. But those are extreme assumptions.
If we lower the Rockies’ chances in each game to 60%, and assume the Dodgers have a 45% chance of winning tomorrow (a very conservative estimate), the chances of Friday meaning anything are 19.8%.
If I had to guess, I’d say somewhere between 10 -15%.

I dont think it happens, I think we win or rox lose tomorrow
but I’m pretty sure we may be the least confident fan base heading in the playoffs : (

Another day, champagne free.
At this point I don’t think they should celebrate when the clinch it. They dont deserve it.
I wish I were a Pirates fan so I could remember what it’s like to win, LOL.
Jk, but jeez, this is sad.

Throw the champagne away! We already partied enough. The goal is the world series.
THAT IS ALL. RELAX. Rest for the POST season. Get the rotation in order. That’s all that matters.
