Dodgers 2011 #1 Prospect Run Off
The vote is pretty close between Kenley Jansen, Zach Lee, and Jerry Sands, so we are going to do a vote off here. The vote is going to be a little different, however, as votes are only going to be counted through the comments. To vote for a player, simply post their name in the title of a comment. Please only vote once, and try to stay on topic here so it is easier for me to count the votes. I'll leave this vote off open all the way until Wednesday night so everyone has time to vote for their favorite prospect. Again the options are:
Kenley Jansen
Zach Lee
Jerry Sands

I am pleased there is a re-vote and that it is members only. I probably would have voted for 5 people before Jansen.
Zach Lee
If we are going to do it this way shouldn’t we just re do the whole thing and have the whole thing be done with way if we are worried about non member tampering?
I highly doubt that it was tampered with enough
that the top 3 would have changed. I know there were 5 or 6 people talking about their legit votes for Robinson, but he only got 5% of the votes which means he didn’t really have a chance at #1

Kenley Jansen
People don't think it be like this, but it do.
Uh, Didn't Notice the Word "Your"
I will post that at some point. No particular time has really struck me as a good one, for some reason.

Rubby De Lee JanSands
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
He throws 100mph, can both start and relieve, and can hit for power… but BA doesn’t like him because he was drafted in the 25th round and cost $5.25 million to sign.
Now with 33% more Kavula

Which is why I love him!

Are you going to submit a real vote as well?
i can’t remember who you said you voted for in the 1st thread

I said Sands in the first thread, the poll
then started thinking I wanted De La Rosa. I’m going to stick with Sands to be consistent.
So, SANDS.
I could see Lee being a clear #1 next year tho.

Zach Lee
My original vote was actually for Trayvon, I was really impressed with him this past year. But I’ll go with Lee here; if only because i see him with the highest ceiling.
perhaps we should start calling him that lol
I'm nobody's fool, least of all yours

If the voting is still open
I would like to vote Jansen
Seeing a bunch of new names
I wonder if they were just lurkers before.
Sands is my vote. Then, of course, Kyle Russell :P

i dont think Kenley should be in this poll
i just feel like since he is already in the majors he isnt considered a prospect to me, i just think it should be for the players that have not made it to the bigs and either Trayvon or Sands should be the #1 since they are closest to the majors

Kenley Jansen (23.5 years old) RHP – Dominated the minor leagues, and then went on to record the 4th lowest major league rookie ERA in major league history (min 25 innings) at 0.67. Still technically a rookie heading into 2011, major league batters also hit just .130 against him. Will almost certainly stay in the bullpen for the rest of his career.

Right, a Rookie is a Rookie
we can’t change the rules for our own purposes. Well we can, but we won’t.
dont get me wrong Kenley is a beast. i love the guy and his story but i just feel it should goe to someone in the minors.

That would be counter
to the criteria used by just about every prospect maven and publication around. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Also most rankers
don’t use “closest to the majors” as their only criterion. Projection, ceiling, and odds of getting to that ceiling, or close to it, come into play also.

Voting can continue until 6 pm PST tonight (10/27)
At that point I’ll count up the votes, and tomorrow I’ll have a post with the results and the vote for prospect #2
Not sure
if I qualify as member …. but given the choices
Sands
Course you do
Hell you were an original

Brandon, what do you think about making all the prospect polls in this format? Seems like a big success.
Yeah it does seem like a better way to do it
I’ll probably continue to have a main post on the front page with the candidates and such which can be used for discussion, and then have a link to the actual thread for the voting which will be in the fan posts. The way definitly seems to be a more accurate reflections of the community’s votes.

Maybe Kenley Jansen fans only login on Tuesdays.
