BREAKING: CJ Wilson punched everyone on his bullpen
save Perez, who in turn punched Ron Washington. Details to follow.

No, just me mimicking the Onion
consider it wishful thinking.
I’m sure Wilson was wishing for it.

then he snorted a Tony Montana-sized mountain of coke with Ron W

I admit that it feels like someone on the Rangers needs to step up and say
“What you lookin’ at? You all a bunch of fuckin’ assholes. You know why? You don’t have the guts to be what you wanna be?”

That simulates what score # will hit :)
is that code for PR?
if so, I am also flummoxed. Not that I have the slightest idea WHAT you are talking about. Ahem.

Ah fuck, I give up
It was just San Francisco’s year, they unlike us, decided to show up this year and sometimes you show up and it just goes your way .
Congratulations to San Francisco. . . you fucks, now go to hell.
from MLBTR
Some good praise for some of our young prospects.
62 Trayvon Robinson OF LA B A bit underappreciated. Has made major strides at the plate the last couple years and just passed the AA test. Glove looks MLB ready in center, profiles as a solid leadoff hitter with his speed and on-base skills. Still think he could have teens HR power
81 Jerry Sands 1B/OF LA B Surprise power prospect, showed the ability to make adjustments and maintain success after skipping a level midseason to AA. Reports on outfield defense are surprisingly decent. Need to see him carry forward the breakout to next season, but could end up something like a right-handed Nick Swisher
83 Dee Gordon SS LA B Amazing athleticism, but the experience excuse only lasts for so long, and impossible to project much more power in that frame, limiting his ceiling. If he can shore up his defense and plate discipline, he can be an above average regular, similar to Elvis Andrus last year. If not, he’ll probably still stick for a bit as a flashy but overrated and mediocre regular, like Elvis Andrus this year.
88 Zach Lee RHP LA B Very projectable arm that already flashes a plus fastball and slider, reports have him showing surprisingly polished command for being a two sport player. Good frame and clean looking delivery, though not seeing a lot of deception. Potential front-line arm

Interesting report….usually #1 picks are rated higher than Lee ended up here..but it is an early look.
I still think Gordon has more upside than TRob..2011 will be a key year for Gordon.
Its not really a report
Just a fanposter’s personal Top 100 list with a little color for each player.
Very true
At the beginning of this past season, this wasn’t a “write this guy off as a prospect” year for a lot of our top 10. Gordon, Withrow, Robinson, E. Martin, A. Miller, etc. had some breathing room. Next year will be very important to determining the true status of a lot of guys.
I’d have probably written him off at this point with all his attitude issues if he were still in our system.
Sure, by now. Going into last off-season, Lambo had struggled and the wisdom was that last year was a big test for him.
He didn’t pass.
by Michael White on Oct 29, 2010 8:17 AM PDT up reply actions
Guys who would get a pass from me in 2011 if things don't go well
that I expect to be in the top 10
Rubby, Webster, Gould
Right exactly
This season I thought was a chance to prove himself. He failed and I would have dropped him out of our top 15 had he still be in our system.
And he complied by writing himself off
though I’m sure if he was still Dodger property he’d be getting a pass by some.
File this under WTF
From the Chicago Sun-Times:
According to major-league sources, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria was intent on making Guillen his next manager. Talks, sources say, progressed to the point that there was discussion of executing a trade that would send Guillen, who has a year left on his contract, to the Marlins for 20-year-old outfielder Mike Stanton, who hit 22 home runs and knocked in 59 runs in just 100 games as a rookie this season.
After Guillen met with chairman Jerry Reinsdorf late in the season and agreed to return to the Sox in 2011 — but not getting a desired extension — the Marlins talks died, sources say.
LMAO!
I want to see that trade just to see how retarded (sorry Keith) it would be. Like…seriously? A manager is a manager, why would you trade a legit 40 HR potential 20 year old outfielder for a manager…it boggles the mind.

11 teams who came back down 0-2 to win World Series
1996 Yankees (lost first 2 at home)
1986 Mets (lost first 2 at home)
1985 Royals (lost first 2 at home)
1981 Dodgers (lost first 2 on the road)
1978 Yankees (lost first 2 on the road)
1971 Pirates (lost first 2 on the road)
1965 Dodgers (lost first 2 on the road)
1958 Yankees (lost first 2 on the road)
1956 Yankees (lost first 2 on the road)
1955 Dodgers (lost first 2 on the road)
1921 Giants (series played at one location, Polo Grounds)
I was thinking about 78 and 81 last night while watching the debacle
Still doable but having to go through Lincecum and Cain again will be hard. Might be time for the nay sayers on Cain to simply admit he’s a good pitcher.
1921 was a best of 9, so falling down 0-2 wasn’t as big of an obstacle. The Giants won 5 of the next 6.

Pretty sure you have to use a separate Email
and I thought that if you tried from the same IP address you’d have a problem but I could be wrong.
Opening a new account causes you to start from scratch completely. I’d even have to wait 24 hours to comment. What a pain. Oh well. Thanks though!

I may end up switching to my other account once the 24 hour commenting ban is lifted. Shouldn’t have to do it that way though, but I guess it really isn’t THAT big of a deal.

You can create multiple IDs from the same IP address
that would be a pretty big restriction otherwise. I believe that everyone behind my work firewall has the same IP address to the outside world. Pretty sure you are right about the separate e-mail, but those are easy to create.

if that doesn't get them to stop playing DSB
then I don’t know what will

the only thing i'm scared about
is that instead of DSB, they’ll play something by (gulp) Nickleback.

they always made me feel nostalgic
even though their music is clearly shite…but the last few years (since the Sopranos finale) they’ve been way overplayed, especially DSB. This makes them dead in my eyes.

Irrational thinking dept
if the Giants do win it all, maybe Ned/Frank will feel pressured to spend crazy loot and bring in someone like Crawford.
Outspending the Tigers will be a challenge
by Michael White on Oct 29, 2010 7:41 AM PDT up reply actions
maybe this could be like a subway
and frank could sell bonds to fans. that would be better than deferred money.
at first I was all for this idea
then I realized my bitterness would be undying if my contribution was used for the Jason Schmidts of the world.

I am thinking of selling my own bonds
to buy this house. I will have to rent it out for porno shoots to make ends meet though.
are you sure about that?
Do we really want to see a bunch of pale, flabby naked bodies that spend way too much time in their mothers’ basements?
@davidyoungtbla - The commenter formerly known as El Lay Dave.
I just get a kick out those who think just because
Ned might get money to spend that he’d spend it wisely. Did we already forget the Kensai reports that Ned does best when he’s not allowed to spend money.
you know ned reads this every day
you are just giving him ideas. If you are ever covering a game and you get to go in his office, take a look at the Z key on his laptop.

Clearly
Those guys are all on Roids and HGH provided by Jose Guillen.
Come on, the writing is on the wall
1. Ex Giants
2. Super Veteran Status
3. We need a good hitting 1st baseman
4. We need a 2nd baseman
5. Ring in a box
6. Allowed to increase payroll
7. Frank will have seen these guys for the whole postseason and won’t be able to write the check fast enough.
Maybe Cliff Lee's stinker in Game 1 will scare everybody off and he'll go cheaply to the Dodgers
But that’s just wishful thinking. We’ll probably just resign Padilla and call it a day.
by Michael Kieser on Oct 29, 2010 8:28 AM PDT up reply actions
I’d be less surprised if the Dodgers traded for Albert Pujols then if they sign Lee.
i honestly don’t see any way that the Dodgers spend top flight money on the best SP on the market (especially since that’s the wrong place to spend if you are going to spend.)
by Michael White on Oct 29, 2010 8:30 AM PDT up reply actions
man...
dodgers won’t have a shot at him but can you imagine a rotation of Lee, Kershaw, Billingsley and yes Lilly?
Of course right now I’d rather add a great hitter…

Somebody has to play LF next season
And if it’s Jamey Carroll I’ll give up on the season right then and there. I would love to have Carl Crawford (even more than Werth, though he would be great too), but seeing as there are so few impact bats on the market they will probably be to costly for the Dodgers. Adam Dunn would be my guess to end up in LA, but he may be too pricey too. Personally, I would love to see Loney get traded for Prince Fielder but that ain’t happening either.
As much as I like the Lilly signing, I’m afraid that’s going be the biggest splash Colletti makes.
