A few things they (and the CPBL team) are impressed from this and last game: Stults’ changeup. Paul’s arm. Carroll’s defense. Everything Manny.

but do most people agree that this is Loney’s make or break year? show some power or we start looking?
He's probably ok
for one more year then. But he isn’t much of a bargain next year if he doesn’t hit a little better. Might be nice to have an Olmedo cheapy type who can be atleast average with the glove to play against lefties.

even if Loney is roughly as good (or bad) as he was last year, the Dodgers are gonna have bigger things to worry about. I think he’d have to regress, or Lambo would have to impress, in order for something to happen in ’11.

Towers has looked pretty solid
in his appearances. So has Ramon Ortiz for the most part. And Stults. As part of the ABRuO* contingent.

I’m telling you, whoever the last man in the pen is, or long reliever, as long as it isn’t RuOrtiz I’ll be ok with it. (But it should be Stults as #5 and someone like Link or Monasterios or the like as last man in pen, at least til Bellisario is sorted out.)

Let me just say I won’t be rushing out to purchase any “CPBL” caps. The only thing that makes them better than my little league caps is that they’re fitted.
Speaking of that, I did love last weekend when the White Sox minor leaguer entered the game late at SS, wearing an adjustable cap, and Rick & Charley were just beside themselves in fits of laughter.

Alcantara had hit a pair of home runs off Red Barons pitcher Pete Zamora in May. Zamora later retaliated by hitting Alcantara with a pitch and was suspended and fined by the league. And the day before Izzy’s kick-and-charge, he again homered off Zamora and, in the pitcher’s view, may have hot-dogged with an arrogant trot around the bases.
Yeah, but still. Kick the catcher.
I mean, in 100+ years of baseball who had been bonkers enough to do it. I mean, I’m sure Carl Everett thought about it and Milton Bradley would have toyed with the idea, but to actually do it….. real man of genius.
