Vin Scully Hospitalized

From http://www.vinscullyismyhomeboy.com/2010/03/vin-scully-hospitalized.html

KNBC, CH. 4 is reporting that Vin Scully was hospitalized tonight...

I'll update this post if I hear anything else.

UPDATE: 11:29pm
Got out of the bed too soon and bumped his head. Will be fine. (from Ch.4 News)

UPDATE: 11:23pm
NBC does not know why he was taken to the Hospital. Family says he will be okay.

UPDATE: 11:08pm

Famed L.A. Dodger Announcer Vin Scully was hospitalized Thursday night due to an undisclosed ailment. This according to a family representative. He was transported from his home in Hidden Hills to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center. The family spokeswoman said "he’s going to be okay." No other details were given.

Obviously, all prayers go out to Vin and his family. Scully is truly the heart and soul of the Dodgers and anything minor is a big deal because of his age.

A quick update on Vin, as news reports in LA have come out that he was admitted to the hospital this evening.

I just spoke with him a few minutes ago and he said that he simply got out of bed too fast this evening and fell and bumped his head and so for precautionary measures, he was taken to the hospital and will stay overnight for observation. However, he wanted to assure everyone that he's fine and that he expects to be at Camelback Ranch this weekend for the telecast on Sunday.

As you can imagine, he appreciates everyone's concern and I can assure you, he sounded just like he always does...

I guess it is better to be safe than sorry, but this event sent a late-night scare into Dodger Land

UPDATE #2: Vin was released from the hospital this morning at 11am. It was truly just precautionary. From Eric:

Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers and I apologize for any concern that I caused.

Most importantly, I'm looking forward to Sunday's game, my first of the Spring.

Thank you and see you at the Stadium!
