With all of these guys gone, they’ll have no choice but to use Withrow, Gordon, etc stateside.
GIAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
"no choice"?
There are still 23 pitchers in big league camp aside from those going overseas. It wouldn’t shock me if they used some guys from minor league camp, but I don’t know about “no choice.”
Manny is apparently confirmed. Well at least for now. Per Dylan Hernandez:
Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch said the agency that represents Manny confirmed he would go
Taiwan Trip
Should be a pretty good time of the year to be in Taiwan. The summers are brutally hot/humid (monsoon season). It still rains quite a bit in March, so there is good chance that some of the games could see some rain fall. I have no idea if their stadiums are indoor or not, I always avoided staying in Taiwan too long during baseball season due to the weather. I did however load up on a few packs of baseball cards from the Taiwanese League. I found a 7-11 store that sold them. I’m not sure if I was more amazed that Taipei had 7-11 stores, or that they had Taiwanese League baseball cards! Nothing like a one stop shop for baseball cards and jaozi.
The team should enjoy their stay, but obviously won’t have much time to sightsee. Of course there was much more to see and do in Beijing than anywhere in Taiwan. Taipei probably has the worlds top museum, but I doubt Manny Ramirez steps foot in it. Perhaps a trip to the Chiang Kai Shek memorial, which eerily resembles the Lincoln Memorial inside. A big pat on the back to anyone who knows how many steps (stairs) the CKS Memorial has leading up to it and why?

With no real starters going,
Is Manny going for publicity? Or is he just taking a free trip?
