I thought I was the only one irritated by his post.

Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen

I was too. I tried to just be casual, then when he responded in a salty tone again I just ignored it.

After reading his full post and his comments within, I just shrugged my shoulders and slowly moved off his lawn.

Saint Mary's

just finished watching the game. Impressive. Your league is looking strong.

It serves as a nice reminder

that there actually is some good basketball being played out west. The narrative was written early with the Pac-10 being down, but people just keep exaggerating it. It’s like the one year the NL West blows, and we still hear about how awful the division is.

truebluela Josh Towers just gave up a rocket HR to RF to David Murphy #Dodgers #Rangers

Murphy is definitely capable of crushing a long homer

Surprise is a beautiful facility

but they have huge congestion issues. I wouldn’t go there again unless I was riding a bike or arriving an hour early.

Or are we not starting two 1st baseman today

per the lineup.

At this point I think Ramon Ortiz has J-Mac's Spot.

Or Weaver’s, however you may. Monstercherios is also set, if we assume Torre is sticking with Stults as his last starter. Kuo, Troncoso, Broxton and Sherill are there, obviously. If we start with 11 pitchers, Monster and Ramon have to be the last two. When they expand to twelve pitchers, however, I have no idea who makes it from the pool of J-mac, Towers, Elbert, Weaver and Russ Ortiz.. Heck, even Lindblom might be in the mix. That’s going to be a tough decision for Joe.

link has an option left

so if its between him and pitchers that are out of options… joe will go out of option pitcher

So is Repko the surprise in Surprise?

There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.

Ortiz pitched well overall

In the last inning he gave up a sold hit, but then a Texas(leaguer) bloop hit. And then a walk. And then got out of it.

Repko as surprise.

Jason always hits some surprising home runs, but unfortunately it’s not surprising when he does something frenetic like run into a wall or a team-mate or a ball in play.

by Gen3blue on Mar 20, 2010 3:05 PM PDT reply actions

Dee Gordon came in to pinch run that inning

Also Nick Green nearly hit one out of the park. Got a double at the wall. Then came out for a pinch runner as well. No runs scored though.

And I’m outta here.

Link gets 3 out 1-2-3 fast

1 pop out, 2 ground out (no Ks). Dee Gordon SS involved in two of the outs. Dodgers win 5-4.

Link is having a superb spring. He’ll make the team.

Noooooo! That horrible walk rate just destroyed his career ;)

by Ivdown on Mar 20, 2010 4:16 PM PDT up reply actions

Epic fail

I was conflating what should happen with what would happen.

Now excuse me while I bow my head in shame. I have to re-evaluate my fandom at this point.

by silverwidow on Mar 20, 2010 4:37 PM PDT up reply actions

At the very least, Torre praised Link for his aggressiveness, and said he was a throwback, a no-nonsense guy, and that he saw enough polish that he could be with the big club at some point this year.

Has Torre Made Any Comment About Withrow?

I find it hard to believe no journalist asked Torre about him.

by CanuckDodger on Mar 20, 2010 4:52 PM PDT up reply actions

I actually meant to ask this morning, but forgot (you’d be surprised how easy it is to forget things when the topics shift all the time). Tomorrow morning’s media session might be the best spot for me to ask (after the game, they tend to only want to talk about the game that just ended).

by Eric Stephen on Mar 20, 2010 4:55 PM PDT up reply actions

Torre said this to Tony Jackson
“That was pretty impressive stuff,” Torre said. “He could have pitched two innings.”

I think my pool/bracket is about to go up in flames

but stepping away from that it’s awesome. Go underdogs!

chances are I would lose bracket anyway.
