Best Seats in Dodger Stadium?

We're finally finished with school in Hawaii and will soon be back in southern California.  One of the first things we're doing when we get back to California is going to a Dodgers game.  The timing could not have worked out better as we arrive in California on the 12th of April, and then Opening Day is the next day.  We thought about going to the game on the 13th, but passed on it and instead are going to the first game of the season against the Giants on Friday.

I've been to a good number of Dodgers games in my life.  In the past I've always just searched for tickets as close to the field as possible without draining my bank account.  I got to wondering though with all the avid Dodgers fans here what seats in Dodger Stadium are the "best" in your experiences?  I guess my only qualification is getting the most bang for your buck.  I'm sure answers will be varied since some fans may prefer different areas in the ballpark, which will make the feedback to this all the more interesting.  We're in section 157 (the red-shaded area in the photo) for the game on 4/16.

So, in your opinion, where are the best seats in Dodger Stadium?

I like the Lodge Between 1st and 3rd

best way to get bang for buck is buying weekday games no promo’s on Ebay from season ticket holders who sell them for season ticket price not Dodger Retail price. For example.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Dodgers-Season-Tickets-4-15-4-29-5-4-5-23-8-19-Field-2_W0QQitemZ260565467715QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Tickets_all_in_one?hash=item3caae98243

Those might be some of the best seats in the house for 75.00 a ticket.

All you can eat right field pavillion

During night games are awesome.

1. All you can eat
2. Nice view
3. Get to watch the bison make plays in center right before your eyes
4. $30 per

They do not sell grossly overpriced beer in the pavilion. Just a note to make in the future.

There is beer for sale in the AYCE RF pavilion. There are no beer sales in the LF pavilion.

I was able to get tix on StubHub

I purchased them for about $45 of Dodger tix price. We are sitting Sec. 22, row B. Those look like bombass seats. I’ve sat middle deck first base and right field. I remember those seats being good. I’m with you, the closer the better. But I’ll sit anywhere to see the Dodgers play. I once watched part of a game from the outfield fence in SF. You can go and watch for free for about one inning at a time. Or longer is there is no line.

Up Front

is what I prefer but spending over $100/ticket is insane. I do it every once in a while but it’s insane. I prefer Stub Hub though it is often more but I can pick and choose where I get to sit.

I sat in Mannywood before- didn’t like it. I don’t like not being able to see the large screen and for me it’s too far from the action.

I sat in Field 11(Row U in the shade) for the NLCS game 2. Loved it.

I’ve sat in Field 21-43 as long as I get 1st or second row. loved it. That’s my favorite not too expensive section.

I’ve sat in Loge 140’s(first base side) in the front row against the ledge- awesome.

Brought our church youth group to a Giants game last year and were in Loge 154. Still nice.

I sat in the lower reserve before but had a nose bleed. I’d rather watch the game on TV.

Once I had some season tickets for Field 17. Nice.

Maybe some day I can save up enough $$ to sit in box seats and look down on the poor peeps behind me as I go take my seats!!

Nobody ever mentions the Top Deck!

It’s extremely cheap (especially from stub hub), and the view of the stadium is great. You’re pretty far away, but you can still see everything.

I like the top deck

A lot more than the pavillion. You still get a great view of the game. Back in high school, they used to have a family 4 pack, where you got 4 seats in the upper deck, 4 sodas, 4 hot dogs, and a parking pass for $44. It was on Wed and Sundays, so me and my friends use to go to as many Wednesday games a possible (Sunday games weren’t as much fun because the sun can kill you up there.)

I’ve sat in a lot of places around DS, pretty much everywhere except the pricey sections in Field, and only once have I been between 1B and 3B in the Loge. The sight lines are great from everywhere. The distances are a bit great in the hinterlands of the reserved deck, e.g., the upper parts of “Bleacher Beach”, and up in the top deck. The pavilions are, of course, a bit far from home plate, but closer to the OFs, and you get a similar view to the OFs. (Last season we sat in RF once; there were some girls there who were very enjoying the rear view of Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp.) If you get a good price (cheap resale from season-ticket holders, or specials, or packages that are sure to come later), I think infield reserve (sections 1-15) is a good deal, with a nice view of the entire game, especially in the lowest-numbered sections closer to home plate; if you are near home, the people going up and down the aisles are almost never blocking your view.

Depends on who you go with

When I take my kids I get Reserve level seats. The angle is steeper and they can see over the person in front of them. I made the mistake of paying extra to sit in the loge section which I thought they would enjoy. Great view for me, but they couldn’t see and it was no fun for them.

I hate the Pavillions, seems like a fight breaks out every game out there. Plus you can’t see the infield!

If I go with my buddies I like to sit Field section 1 -43, as close to “1” as possible or loge 101 to 155, again as close to 101 as possible.

The baseline club is a complete waste of money and the seats are expensive seats. The viewing angle is horrible. Very hard to see the batter. The dugout club is great, but VERY expensive. I recommend you try it once if you have the money or can score tickets below face. I got free tickets one time and it was fantastic.

I try to go to at least 20 – 30 games a year. I would get season tickets if I could afford it.

I second most of what he says.

The baseline seats do have horrible angles. Even worse are the seats just behind the baseline seats. That is why I like the Loge section. Also good point about kids and the Reserve Level.
