Bases loaded for the Marlins in the bottom of the sixth. Fans chanting, “We-want-She-rrill!”

Ouch

you can have him…..for Coughlan. LOL

First

Three inning save for Brox

by vadodger on Apr 11, 2010 12:05 PM PDT reply actions

Let’s go score some runs now.

by LAD17 on Apr 11, 2010 12:06 PM PDT reply actions

I guess they do televise minor league games…

by delias man on Apr 11, 2010 12:06 PM PDT reply actions

You know what would be really cool? If Kershaw learned the knuckler and decided to pitch that way for one game just to confuse everybody.

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:07 PM PDT reply actions

That would be cool, but I’d like him to master that in about 3 years after he’s mastered the rest first.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:08 PM PDT up reply actions

Strasburg with a 100 mph K, high and tight.

by silverwidow on Apr 11, 2010 12:08 PM PDT reply actions

“Dig in there son, you’ve seen heat before!” :)

by keithc13 on Apr 11, 2010 12:10 PM PDT up reply actions

damn I thought that ball was smoked.

by LAD17 on Apr 11, 2010 12:09 PM PDT reply actions

I don’t care what anyone says, this guy will be one of the GREATEST ever.

by silverwidow on Apr 11, 2010 12:09 PM PDT reply actions

Jesus. He was out by a yard.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:11 PM PDT reply actions

Mike Leake

went 6 2/3 4 hits 1ER 7BB and 5K’s. Pretty f’n impressive

by keithc13 on Apr 11, 2010 12:14 PM PDT reply actions

Really? 7 walks in 6 2/3 is not impressive, no matter if he gave up only a run.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:16 PM PDT up reply actions

I would replace “impressive” with “incredibly lucky”

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:16 PM PDT up reply actions

he didn’t pitch a day n the minors.

by keithc13 on Apr 11, 2010 12:16 PM PDT reply actions

He will when he’s optioned again to the minors.

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:17 PM PDT up reply actions

That's fine

but it doesn’t mean it was a very good major league outing. Decent for a first start, but 7 walks is bad.

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:17 PM PDT up reply actions

yeah, lucky, but I’d take that from Padilla at this point :)

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:18 PM PDT up reply actions

So? He’s pretty much a finished product right now, and i’m sure he’ll have a fine career as a back end starter. But hat doesnt mean walking 7 guys in a game is anything other than awful.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Is Kershaw a finished product? Billingsley?

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:19 PM PDT up reply actions

Totally different than Leake. Bills and Kershaw are stuff guys, Leake isnt. Sure he will get better with experience, but thats also why hes in the bigs so soon. He doesnt need to be developed, he already is.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:21 PM PDT up reply actions

What’s Heager’s FIP for this game?

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:20 PM PDT reply actions

FIP’s don’t really matter much for knuckler’s though, do they?

by Nofatmike on Apr 11, 2010 12:24 PM PDT up reply actions

Been out there three times today. Runners at 1st and 2nd each time.

by Alex41592 on Apr 11, 2010 12:23 PM PDT reply actions

Late night last night?

by Michael White on Apr 11, 2010 12:25 PM PDT up reply actions

Too late to be watching this shit happen. Haeger was fun though.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 12:28 PM PDT up reply actions

Can someone answer whether Sherrill will pitch the 8th with Dodgers up, without telling me to go to hell?

by silverwidow on Apr 11, 2010 12:24 PM PDT reply actions

i say no

but i don’t coach for the
Dodgers

by keithc13 on Apr 11, 2010 12:25 PM PDT up reply actions

Our bullpen is a steaming pile of shit.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:25 PM PDT reply actions

And, its starting to rain….

by vadodger on Apr 11, 2010 12:25 PM PDT reply actions

This pitching / defense combo is the shiznit

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:25 PM PDT reply actions

What the hell does Honeycutt tell these pitchers?

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:25 PM PDT reply actions

What can he tell a guy like Weaver? He’s a veteran who’s going to do his thing.

by Michael White on Apr 11, 2010 12:26 PM PDT up reply actions

He told them he wants to call it a career

And if they stink enough it will make it quicker

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 12:26 PM PDT up reply actions

Just as an experiment, he (Joe) should try not going out at all for the next week. Just sit down and let the catcher say something if he wants to.

by berkowit28 on Apr 11, 2010 12:30 PM PDT via mobile up reply actions

“Kind of a mistake there.” No shit, Lyons, it was a cement mixer slider.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:26 PM PDT reply actions

This season is going to get very long very quickly if the bullpen doesn’t drastically improve soon.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 12:26 PM PDT reply actions

we need beli/kuo back

Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

by bucknellbruin on Apr 11, 2010 12:27 PM PDT up reply actions

that wouldn’t suck

by keithc13 on Apr 11, 2010 12:30 PM PDT up reply actions

And so the Weaver witch hunt begins.

by Little Blue Bicycle on Apr 11, 2010 12:27 PM PDT reply actions

The Dodgers have led in five of six games this trip, and have led in the seventh inning or later in four of six games. Yet there’s a very real chance they will be 2-4

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:28 PM PDT reply actions

Uncle Google, stop being truthful, just try to make me feel better…:)

by keithc13 on Apr 11, 2010 12:29 PM PDT up reply actions

Alright

If you just want to feel better you should know the Dodgers are about to score so many runs this inning that they call last night’s game a win for LA as well

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 12:30 PM PDT up reply actions

This goes back to my “frustrating” argument vis a vis teams that have great staffs and no offenses

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:34 PM PDT up reply actions

Kings losing again, they’ve completely tanked away the five seed and are looking at a sweep in the 2/7 matchup.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:35 PM PDT reply actions

The last time they faced the top seed in the first round of the playoffs it worked out okay

by Michael White on Apr 11, 2010 12:36 PM PDT up reply actions

That Red Wings win was a 2/7 matchup.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:38 PM PDT up reply actions

if it's SJ in the first round i don't mind that at all

Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

by bucknellbruin on Apr 11, 2010 12:37 PM PDT up reply actions

or should i say FTT or FTW.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:37 PM PDT up reply actions

Oh man, that’s not what I thought it meant

by Michael White on Apr 11, 2010 12:38 PM PDT up reply actions

ha. should we even ask?

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:39 PM PDT up reply actions

I guess you could figure out the first part….

by Michael White on Apr 11, 2010 12:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Damn. hit it sharply, just right at 2b.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:40 PM PDT reply actions

Very rough, we could have easily been 5-1 heading home.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:42 PM PDT reply actions

I guess he’s right then. Sadly it’s also the best Dodgers team of the decade too then.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:44 PM PDT up reply actions

It took me a minute, too. I instantly thought of ’05 also.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 12:45 PM PDT up reply actions

The decade isn’t over yet, the 00’s are the end of a decade, not the beginning.

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:45 PM PDT up reply actions

I’ll agree with you, but I’m pretty sure that was the point behind the comment.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 12:47 PM PDT up reply actions

They’ve played six games. If the end up 2-4, well there were enough stretches last year like that.

by Little Blue Bicycle on Apr 11, 2010 12:45 PM PDT up reply actions

{Blush}. Bit on that one hook, line, and sinker.

by Little Blue Bicycle on Apr 11, 2010 12:49 PM PDT up reply actions

And Broxton will not be used today if we dont come back.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:43 PM PDT reply actions

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. TRONCOSO is able in this game?

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:43 PM PDT reply actions

He can pitch back to back, but he cant throw more than 13 pitches in an outing. Makes sense, right?

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Nice play be Belliard on that grounder.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 12:44 PM PDT reply actions

Nobody should worry with just 6 games down

Excellent hitting so far this year, pitching and defense will strengthen over time

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 12:46 PM PDT reply actions

rofl

This is the worst Dodgers team this decade

by SeanMillerSavior on Apr 11, 2010 12:47 PM PDT up reply actions

only if Kuo and Beli get back healthy. If they dont, our bullpen will be in trouble the whole year.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Yes

if both don’t pitch at all for us we are in trouble. This is not news

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:48 PM PDT up reply actions

… will strengten over time …
Reminds me of Eric Karros saying every year, hey it’s only April, May, or June, there’s still alot of time.
Honestly, Kemp appears really out of focus on defense this series, maybe he needs to get his eyes checked. Chances for a repeat gold glove for him this season do not look too good as of now.

by 68elcamino427 on Apr 11, 2010 12:52 PM PDT up reply actions

Pitching will certainly strengthen over time if those guys come back. Defense i’m less sure on.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:49 PM PDT up reply actions

Last licks, let's see the Dodgers score two

I’d like to see Broxton before the off day and I hate it when the Dodgers lose and then take a day off.

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 12:52 PM PDT reply actions

Damn

I thought they would’ve had Manny up instead of Martin in this situation.

by Nofatmike on Apr 11, 2010 12:54 PM PDT reply actions

I dont know what would bother Eric more

a L here, or we tie it up and trot Russ Ortiz for the 9th

by SeanMillerSavior on Apr 11, 2010 12:54 PM PDT reply actions

Great AB by Russ to get it started.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:55 PM PDT reply actions

Torre

likes to bunt in these situations.

by Alex41592 on Apr 11, 2010 12:55 PM PDT reply actions

The only acceptable bunt here would be the patented Raffy push bunt base hit

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:56 PM PDT reply actions

That was a strike though.

by Alex41592 on Apr 11, 2010 12:57 PM PDT reply actions

A great pitch for strike 1 3

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:58 PM PDT up reply actions

That was a nasty pitch.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 12:58 PM PDT reply actions

Gameday has strike 1 and 3 as strikes.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 12:58 PM PDT reply actions

That change is nasty, but the 2nd strike hasnt been called all game.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:58 PM PDT reply actions

Joe Torre is going down with his ship.

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 12:59 PM PDT reply actions

There we go…let’s go Bison. Clap clap clap clap clap

by Eric Stephen on Apr 11, 2010 12:59 PM PDT reply actions

That ball was ropes. Cmon Bison, pick yourself up.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 12:59 PM PDT reply actions

I hope they play Rihanna music again

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 1:00 PM PDT reply actions

Its not a damn slider, Lyons. Its a change up.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 1:00 PM PDT reply actions

He is really fucking irritating.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 1:01 PM PDT up reply actions

3 straight change ups.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 1:01 PM PDT reply actions

Matt Kemp today = -1 WAR.

Steve Lyons: VARYING YOUR PITCHES>

Nunez throws three stright changeups.

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 1:02 PM PDT reply actions

I would like to post some very stupid comments about Kemp right now.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 1:02 PM PDT reply actions

This hasnt been his best game, thats for damn sure.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 1:02 PM PDT up reply actions

Those low strikes are waaay down there.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 1:03 PM PDT reply actions

we need Matt Kemp to play like he did last year. Too many striekouts and lapses so far.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 1:04 PM PDT up reply actions

What a waste of a roadtrip.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 11, 2010 1:03 PM PDT reply actions

Wow, Dodgers stunk that one up

About time to limp back to LA and see if home cooking can right this ship

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 1:04 PM PDT reply actions

This bullpen needs to be upgraded. ASAP.

by Tripon on Apr 11, 2010 1:04 PM PDT reply actions

Fanfuckingtastic

Have a nice day gentleman. Lets pick it up in LA.

by prosellis on Apr 11, 2010 1:04 PM PDT reply actions

First time in a couple of games that the Dodgers didn’t come up with the big hit when they needed it.

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 1:04 PM PDT reply actions

You get a runner on 3rd with 1 out you score that bastard

Dodgers maybe should have given Kemp the day off instead of Manny

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 1:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Kemp doesn’t need a day off this early, he’s young.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 1:07 PM PDT up reply actions

Kemp has to find a way to get that fucking run home instead of a 3 pitch K there.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 1:05 PM PDT reply actions

that was just dreadful, at least MAKE A CONTACT

by LAD17 on Apr 11, 2010 1:05 PM PDT up reply actions

2-4, one of the worst season starts since 2003

But luckily outside of SF the rest of the division isn’t exactly turning heads

by aducker on Apr 11, 2010 1:06 PM PDT reply actions

I guess the one encouraging sign is that the starting pitching, pen, and defense have all been pathetic, yet this team easily could be 5-1.

by oshea2002 on Apr 11, 2010 1:08 PM PDT up reply actions

by Skunkburner on Apr 11, 2010 1:23 PM PDT via mobile reply actions

Well, I'm glad I missed this POS of a game

The offense just from the stats is looking good, so why the fuck can’t they score more than 5 or 6 runs when they get 11 god damn hits? Also 5 hits allowed and the Marlins score fucking 6? That is pathetic.
