AAA -The Isotopes scored at will Monday Night, led by Xavier Paul who parlayed two singles, a double, and a home run into four runs scored, and three runs batted in. Russ Mitchell chipped in with a three run triple. Josh Tower collected the victory, and on a night when the ball was flying acquitted himself quite well going six innings.
AA -While the rest of the Lookout offense remains MIA, Dee Gordon has come alive. Gordon had four hits including three doubles but not once were his teammates able to drive him in. The vaunted outfield of Lambo/VanSlyke/Robinson combined to go 2 for 11. Jesus Castillo took the loss even though he didn't give up any earned runs in his five innings. Jamie Pedroza committed three errors to go along with a hitless night. Javy Guerra showed why he's not ranked higher as he walked four in one inning of work. Command has always been his bug a boo.
High A - Kyle Russell collected two including a triple while striking out once. Caseres chipped in a two run single in the bottom of the 9th but it was not enough as Inland fell 4 - 3. Bobby Blevins struck out eight in his six innings of work but for the second time it was Kenley Jansen who got our attention. Finishing off the game Jansen pitching two hitless innings with three K's and only one walk.
A - The Loons also lost 4 - 3 as they could not find a way to bring home Gerry Sands who pounded out four hits with two doubles. Smith had his hot streak ended as he drew the collar while DH. Sands played RF and Jacobs played 1st base. Sands is hitting a cool .474 so far this year, a far cry from what he was doing a year ago when he was over-matched his first time in a full season league.
