No. Ball got away from snyder, but only a few feet. Dewitt took off and was out by 2 yards.

Important thing is knocked out Kennedy and now the bullpen

by vadodger on Apr 13, 2010 2:41 PM PDT reply actions

Rudimentary creatures of flesh and blood, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.

Batting second. But he threw about 35 pitches in that inning. Vazquez was ready to go in.

by vadodger on Apr 13, 2010 2:43 PM PDT up reply actions

Kershaw needs a few really efficient innings or we’ll need a lot more runs before handing this over to the bullpen.

by prosellis on Apr 13, 2010 2:42 PM PDT reply actions

If Kershaw makes it to the 7th...

I’m gonna dance a happy dance in my seat.

by rosinbag42 on Apr 13, 2010 2:42 PM PDT reply actions

to the 7th or through the 7th into the 8th?

I think if he gives us 7 innings, and we can then hand it over to anyone and then Brox for the 9th we’ll be sittin’ pretty.

Clayton lost the zone after getting squeezed on the first pitch.

Thursday’s matchup should be really good though with Haren vs Kuroda

Seriously. Incredibly athletic to make the play at the end, but he didnt look good getting there.

Who’s the new pitcher? A right-hander, or did they burn their only LOOGY already?

LOOGY but he’s pitching to blake

Casey’s walk ends Norberto’s perfect season.

by David Young on Apr 13, 2010 3:13 PM PDT reply actions

Great stat for DeWitt 7 walks and 1 SO

by vadodger on Apr 13, 2010 3:13 PM PDT reply actions

With the way the offense is set up

If Martin and Dewitt hit 7 and 8 all year, it could lead to a lot of runs at the bottom of the lineup with situations like this. There is the pesky 9 spot, but lots of chances for runs with the OBP that this team is likely to have.

by Ivdown on Apr 13, 2010 3:13 PM PDT reply actions

Has to be the most patient 7-8 in the game.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 13, 2010 3:14 PM PDT up reply actions

If Martin does indeed hit 8th, I can see him getting close to that 90 walk season in 2008 because he will get pitched around for the 9 spot. I think Martin will rebound to a .380 OBP season, even if his SLG% blows dick.

a meaningless Laker game of course

by Eric Stephen on Apr 13, 2010 3:14 PM PDT reply actions

last Dodger to walk thrice in a home opener was Pedro in 1984

by Eric Stephen on Apr 13, 2010 3:16 PM PDT up reply actions

That was freaking predictable. Awesome

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 13, 2010 3:14 PM PDT reply actions

DeWitt would save money by never buying another bat. There is very little chance of him breaking the one he has.

by prosellis on Apr 13, 2010 3:14 PM PDT reply actions

He may be like Ethier last year and not have his own bat

Which is why he doesn’t want to swing and break somebody elses

DeWitt and Ellis trying to corner the market in production without official ABs.

I predict good results this season. :)

Time for Monk, I think.

10 walks

in 9 2/3 innings for Kershaw

by Eric Stephen on Apr 13, 2010 3:22 PM PDT reply actions

The last time I saw Weaver pitch for us at Opening Day, he did not do well.

by robotmadeofnails on Apr 13, 2010 3:22 PM PDT reply actions

Kershaw had never walked more than 8 in back-to-back starts before this season.

He now has 10 in his first 2 starts

by Eric Stephen on Apr 13, 2010 3:24 PM PDT reply actions

Early season jitters. He’s starting to get into the groove of things (which doesn’t make any sense because what you said is currently happening, but I still think he’s looked very good), and I’ve got all the confidence in the world in him right now.

by Ivdown on Apr 13, 2010 3:26 PM PDT up reply actions

Awful. He needs to be pulled.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 13, 2010 3:25 PM PDT reply actions

And then almost took LaRoche’s head off.

by prosellis on Apr 13, 2010 3:26 PM PDT reply actions

This is getting sort of silly. How Torre could not have had anybody warming up is beyond me.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 13, 2010 3:26 PM PDT reply actions

I’m pretty sure he does now

by Michael White on Apr 13, 2010 3:27 PM PDT up reply actions

I meant before the inning. He was at 93 pitches with control problems. It would make sense for someone to be throwing when he went out there.
