dylanohernandez: Torre said he would try to avoid using Weaver tonight, but here he is, pitching the 8th inning. His 7th app in 9 gms.
And in fact
Phil did predict it, in the last thread

Kensai says only 8 games tho
so no worries

Jeff Weaver
was pitching the eighth inning.
He hit the ball real hard.
Kemp / Upton best two players in the West putting on a show this series.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Adrian Gonzalez is good too
but I do agree that Kemp and Upton are freakin great. Tulo is rite there too.
You really have to hate the win stat
when you watch games like this. Heilman deserves this win as much as Jamie McCourt deserves to won the Dodgers
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
At some point Belliard has to start doesn't he?
or do we just enjoy the weapon?
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Hard to keep writing
DeWitts name down every day when all he is offering is BB. I love Blake, but he may need to at least platoon with Belliard
Qualls is pretty good
8th/9th they are okay. Like most team the soft underbelly is the middle relief.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
If we dont get a healthy Kuo and the Bellisario of last year
we are royally screwed this year

stupid Question
I know that you’re not an idiot….. Can’t say the same for the guy doing the typing rite now. :)
Almost
GA really rocked it, heck of a catch
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
We need for Upton's fearlessness to rub off on Ethier.
How many times out of 100 does Upton make THAT play? 85? We’d be lucky if Ethier makes that play 10 times out of 100.

"DeWalk?" hmm.
“…in to pinch-walk” would have been funnier.

Has DeWitt squared up one ball yet this year?
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
he started off the year with a couple of solid singles. Nothing since then.

Sherrill looks good one day and then bad another
He could still get out of this one but that would be a lucky break
Pitching and defense. Unless something major happens in those two categories, this is going to be a long fucking year.
Don't forget
The 2011 Dodgers will very likely be worse than the 2010 Dodgers.

couldn’t get any of their left guys out
Ready to accept the reality that my Dodgers are a .500 team this season.
Was pissed, but now have just accepted what I see, not the notion of what I want.
Go Dodgers, dem bums.
I wonder how long this goes on before management does something
by SeanMillerSavior on Apr 15, 2010 10:12 PM PDT reply actions
Management created this whole mess. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to but 2 ortizs and a rule 5 pick with frigne stuff in the bullpen? It was a joke then and it looks even worse now. It doesnt help that sherrill has fallen off a cliff and we traded our best corner prospect for him.

We were really good the last 2 years
I joined TBLA in the offseason and now we are not really good. All in favor of me leaving say I. (note I’m not leaving) :)
McCourt is gonna face a lot of heat this off-season
assuming he is still owner
by SeanMillerSavior on Apr 15, 2010 10:13 PM PDT reply actions
After this game
The worst team in the NL will still be Houston (1-8).
The second-worst team will be a 3-way tie: the 3-6 Mets, Padres, and my Los Angeles, your Los Angeles, our Los Angeles… Buuuuums.
The Ultimate Ned's Kind of Guy
Because
He pitched yesterday and the Dodgers’ chances in this game do not look good. If he pitches today, he will not be available tomorrow.

Ironic that D-Backs are up by two runs again
because those are basically the two runs the Dodger defense coughed up back in the 2nd
Ramon pulls a head of Russ in the Ortiz derby
he could fall back depending if Reynolds hits his first grand slam.

a coincidence or trend?

Going head to head against the Lakers
on Sunday, that will be interesting. If I had the initiative I’d check when the last < 40,000 game was.

How 'bout a 3-run walk-off from Ethier next inning?
could happen
:-)
would make me soooo happy
Rudimentary creatures of flesh and blood, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
Ok Blue
Last licks to whup these snakes and take some momentum into the SF series. I’d hate to see the Dodgers limp into it against a rested SF team that has been playing fine ball.
furcal, kemp, eth
let’s get it going dodgers!
... we sittin here talking about practice. not a game, not a game.
we can blame sherrill tonight
but Blake fucked up a perfect DP ball

someone is hating on LA right now
by SeanMillerSavior on Apr 15, 2010 10:21 PM PDT up reply actions
Nah, Dodgers should swallow this loss.
They didn’t deserve to win tonight with the kind of defense they were playing out there. Otherwise, Kuroda couldn’t gone 8 again.
Well
I draw the line at actively rooting for my team to lose.
Sorry, can’t do it.

Nevermind, just another single
My bad, Loney
too bad there wasn't a pinch runner for manny
... we sittin here talking about practice. not a game, not a game.
Dodgers GOTTA win this one now...
no excuses!!!
THEY MUST WIN THIS GAME NOW!
A loss now would be worse than if they’d just have gone down quietly, or even fallen short in the 9th. Plus, I reeeeeeally need some sleep already.

you know what this means, right?
Broxton time and he will be unavailable tomorrow against the Giants.
WE…MUST…WIN…
Its just really bad baseball mostly. Its one thing when two teams are just beating each other up or shutting each other down. Not much fun when they just take turns throwing the game away.

Okay
So the upside of this series is Broxton looks really damn good.
terrific
ok, I’m going to bed after the 10th no matter what. I’ll get the results tomorrow. At this point, a loss would hurt way more than a win would feel good.
If you go to sleep before they loose, it doesn't count as a loss until tomorrow
and then they could go 500 still.
perfect timing to DFA an Ortiz

I’d love to hear “Diamondback Talk” right now. (along with what Mark Grace what would be saying)
All those 6 hours and 27 minutes didn't go to wast last night
No lefties left to pitch to Ethier results in the win.
Huh
his worse bullpen decision was not calling Bellasario up and telling to make sure he gets his Visa on time.
Thank God Dre' can play baseball
because he ain’t good at math, maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt and protect the pitchers, they’re not going anywhere unless they start pitching better
Thanks Endre and DeWitt
Makes weekend games way more interesting
Dodgers go into SF series with momentum now
The ‘pen may be tired but let’s face it…they suck even when they’re well rested so the Dodgers will just look for some offense to help them out
Broxton
9 Games into the season:
1W, 0 Sv
Who’d have thunk?
and also
this is gonna HURT the Diamondbacks. So there’s a bonus for ya. It wasn’t pretty, but I’ll DEFINITELY take it.
For all the humor of my previous "our bad team" joke
I basically agree. There’s a good core here that’s being dragged down at the moment. They can turn it around.

he really has no business being down there anyway.
He did after the spring he had. If he has indeed got his shit together, then he needs to be up really soon.
Belisario and J Mac to the rescue in the short term....Kuo maybe too
R Ortiz better step it up or else. I don’t think Torre will stand for this bullshit much longer.
Better be
Wasn’t Ethan Martin scheduled to go tonight for them???
Wow
I had to see it to believe it, but they actually played Triple H’s theme during Endre’s at bat. Awesome lol
Rotoworld on Roethlisberger
Roethlisberger approached the woman while exposed and then shut the two of them in the bathroom with two body guards at the door. The body guards wouldn’t acknowledge the woman’s friends when they tried to intervene.
Well I'm outta here
See y’all tomorrow night!
In other news. . . .
Dodgers continue to ride Branch Rickey mojo and parlay it into a 4-0 record on Jackie Robinson day.
Pittsburgh -26 run differential
Washington -23 run differential
Both have same records as Dodgers.
At least we should leave this company in the very near future. Phils going crazy though.
phils have played Washington 5 times. don’t get me wrong, they are a really good team, but Washington makes anyone look good.
