Minor League Update - Prentice Redman goes yard three times

AAA –Prentice hit three jacks against former teammate Gaby Hernandez leading the Isotopes to a 11 - 5 victory. Prentice hit a 3 run, 2 run, and solo home run. He was only missing the grand slam.The rest of the old man gang of Lindsey and Gibbons accounted for just about all the damage. While the AAAA players are destroying the league, the prospects are all struggling. DeJesus, Hoffman, Mitchell, Lucas May, and Hu are simply not getting it done. James McDonald only pitched one inning before leaving with a broken finger nail. Hopefully the broken nail was the reason for his struggles in the first inning. Brent Leach was forced to pitch three innings, and had his best performance of the season giving up zero runs during his stint. Leach got the win for his effort.

AA - Lookouts lose a heartbreaker 6 - 5 as Matt Sartor couldn't hold a one run lead headed into the 9th. Jesus Castillo made the start, and did his usual mediocre performance. The Lookouts were running wild today with five stolen bases (VanSlyke, Gordon, Herrera(2), and T Robinson).  T Robinson, Van Slyke, and Lambo get all the attention but Thomas Giles is outhitting all of them. Today he went 2/3 bringing his average up to .368.

High A -  66er's lost in extra innings today 4 -1. Saint Claire gave up three runs in the top of the 10th to take the loss. Those runs were the first runs Claire has give up this year in five appearances. Jon Redding bounced back from a horrific start to pitch a solid game for 5 2/3. Smit and Kuo got the game to Saint Claire who pitched a scoreless 8th but ran into bad luck in the 9th. Kenley Jansen got the last two outs, and has still not allowed an earned run. He did however give up a triple which allowed two inherited runners to score. I didn't see the play but this was the recap description:

which makes me wonder if this was not a catch-able ball. Austin Gallagher is the hottest hitter on the 66er's, collecting two more hits, and increasing his triple stat line to .343/.395/.429. Like to see more power from the big 1st baseman but this is promising.

A –While the Dodger outfield continues to pound the ball so does the Loon outfield. They combined for five hits, driving in four of the five runs. Gerry Sands did most of the damage again with a triple and single. In ten games Sands has had an XBH in seven of them giving him a .838 slug%. Technically Sands played 1st base but I'm counting him as an outfielder. Josh Wall had his best start of the year as he tries to rebuild his prospect status. He struck out eight in five innings, while giving up just one run. He was still hittable as they tagged him for eight hits but at least he had a strikeout pitch working. For the second time this year Jordan Roberts pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win.
