Ethier vs kemp

who ends up with a higher SLUGGING %…?

i would go with ethier

by matthewmafa on Apr 21, 2010 7:14 PM PDT reply actions

I think Ethier will end up hitting more doubles, along with a good amount of HRs, so Ethier will, but I think both will get over a .520 slugging percentage.

by Ivdown on Apr 21, 2010 7:15 PM PDT up reply actions

Their both going to be high. I’m just going to roll with Kemp.

All 3 starting OF are insane at the plate right now.

I was 16 years old that year. It was truly special to see him hit the living crap out of the ball that month.

My son is….16 years old. He’s a Dodger fan but with all of the other entertainment options he doesn’t have near the appreciation of this month by Kemp that I do. Although Kemp is the man, as far as we both are concerned. (Andrea is the man to my three daughters, however.)

THE BISON!!!!!!!

I hope the fans will realize that this is the year Kemp will be an all star and vote him in instead of punching their ballot for Carlos Beltran.

The coaches robbed him last year, so far he is making sure he won’t get robbed again.

Great article on him and the travel team he played on near Atlanta in SI this week. Truly a baseball (and Brave) factory.

The thing that impressed me is that, like Kemp, he seems like a well grounded young man. Expect good things from him.

My favorite Kemp story this year so far is that he spent some time w/Tori Hunter in the offseason working out. He went and stayed at his house for a month or so. I love these stories about veterans taking guys under their wings, even if it’s from an opposing team. And especially when the kid responds and works his ass off.

Contrast that with Sheffield “working out” w/Bonds and it turning into a flaxseed rub off.

Re: Phil (or anyone else)

To what degree does Honeycutt work with the relievers during spring training and throughout the season? I’m not familiar with all the different pitching coaches, so I guess if there are more specialized reliever coaches Honeycutt’s influence can be discounted.

by Jesse S. on Apr 21, 2010 7:22 PM PDT reply actions

The Belisario case

was unusual last year and I don’t think Honeycut worked with him at all. He was late for camp, then was lights out in minor league camp. They sent him to major league camp near the end of spring training where he wowed them and found himself on a plane to Los Angeles where he wowed them again against the Angels. I’ve heard nothing of Honeycut working with him. Ken Howell is the bullpen coach.

Because when you see a guy go 1-3 you don’t expect him to have gotten on base 3 other times by walk or whatever else. If I see a guy with a 1-3 game I don’t even expect him to score once automatically.

because he’s proven himself as a studly closer with 100 MPH heat. Feliz has the potential to be a skinnier Broxton with slightly more heat (possibly, I think Broxton hits over 100 every once and a while), but he’s still a rookie this year and needs to prove himself (though he’s done a damn fine job so far).

by Ivdown on Apr 21, 2010 7:46 PM PDT up reply actions

have you seen feliz stats?

31 innings last year 13 hits .65 WHIP

this year 7 innings 2 hits… striking out batters at an absurd rate at 20/21 years old….

it was impressive

he struggled in the begining and still managed to go 6 innings 3 ER

He should have only given up 2 ER, that error by Raffy kinda screwed his QS.

Another plus - Belisario

It was reassuring to hear he was sitting around 93 and the fastball still had the good movement.
