Minor League Update - Eovaldi's Back

Big days again for Lambo and Gordon but the best news was Nathan Eovaldi back in the rotation. We had wondered what happened to him when rosters were announced and he was MIA.

AAA –Isotopes lose 5 - 3 as Josh Towers gave up a two run home run to Phil favorite Hector Luna. The Isotopes offense was again provided by Prentice Redman with two hits. Towers did nothing to show he is an option.

AA –Lookouts wins 6 - 5 on a walk off home run by Corey Smith (non prospect). Dee Gordon collected three hits including his first AA home run. Andrew Lambo continued his torrid hitting with three more hits giving him 16 hits in his last seven games. Lambo his now hitting .377 on the year.

High A - The big news of the day was Nathan Eovaldi being reinstated on the 66er roster from extended spring training. He started the game in fine fashion with four no hit innings but faltered a bit in the fifth. He struck out two of the first three batters he faced. He ended up going five innings and only giving up one hit and two earned runs. Kyle Russell collected three hits and is now hitting .375 on the season. The big thing is the 14 K's in 59 plate appearances. A huge improvement from his prior seasons.

AJerry Sands hit his fifth home run to keep his average above .400 and slug at .870. One of the best pitching performances of the year came from 21 year old Elisaul Pimentel who pitched five innings of shutout ball, giving up only one hit and one walk.
