Opening Day Continuation Game Chat

Pirates lead the Dodgers in the middle of the fourth inning, 3-2.

Everything in the world leads MLB At-Bat (formerly Gameday Audio), which has not worked properly all day.  Not everyone is ready to go on opening day I guess.

Can we sneak Furcal on the plane ride with Stults?

by silverwidow on Apr 5, 2010 11:55 AM PDT reply actions

Real tough decision for me this morning… prepare for a presentation on the IRS or follow Opening Day. Hmm…

We both know the answer to that.

Remember when Furcal was an average to good player for an entire season.

3-2 on Duke? Crap.

by Ivdown on Apr 5, 2010 11:56 AM PDT reply actions

Who's watching live?

I’ll re-ask my earlier question, is Padilla dripping dark man juice all over the mound yet? With the temp 77 in Pittsburgh, and his pitching weak, I have to believe this dude’s sweatier than Kirstie Allie waiting in line at the Soup Plantation.

WHAMMY!

So have we already forsaken Furcal’s season? I’m not sure whether I should jump aboard yet or not.

by Ivdown on Apr 5, 2010 11:56 AM PDT reply actions

That was a crappy slide by Brean. Go head first with your hands to the outside of the dish.

But I loved seeing Bonds walking off the field dejected.

Actually, the data says that the 8th spot is where you want to put your worst hitter.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 5, 2010 12:00 PM PDT up reply actions

PHs hit there, what, 30% of the time? Unless they are Mark Sweeney, they are often better than the #8 guy.

Could go down as one of the best 2 or 3 hitters ever. And to think he lasted so long in the draft…crazy.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 5, 2010 12:04 PM PDT up reply actions

13 rounds I believe. He was a man without a position, which is why he dropped so far. People refused to pitch to him in community college, which is another reason, lol.

by Ivdown on Apr 5, 2010 12:05 PM PDT up reply actions

With Padilla and Haeger as the 4/5, it is a concern. The ace thing is stupid, but there are legit questions about the back half of the rotation and the bullpen without Kuo and Beli.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 5, 2010 12:29 PM PDT up reply actions

Off topic but anyone into cars here?

My family was having lunch yesterday in Irvine when someone decided to park his Bugatti Veyron in valet. That car brought more attention than Rihanna at Camelback Ranch.

There’s a reason why he hasnt been in the bigs for a while and didnt succeed the last 3 years when he was. He isnt any good, and 20 innings of ST wont change that fact.

it seams foolish to spend a hundred bucks on the mlb.tv package when i could watch them downstairs for free, and i’ll be home for most of the summer…i guess the question is if the tbla threads are worth a 100 bucks : )
