Wait...

They’re going back to the Dodger game right?

by gxl on Apr 7, 2010 7:33 PM PDT reply actions

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this

but McCutchen looks like jar jar binks.

by BFDC on Apr 7, 2010 7:33 PM PDT reply actions

wtf is this

anti dodger hochevar hitting 97 on the gun

16 ground outs

well I guess he was the number 1 pick for a reason

by hirambocachica on Apr 7, 2010 7:34 PM PDT reply actions

He’s 26 (or 27) and he’s shown not a hint of promise in the majors yet, so he better start doing it now, which he might just well be doing.

by Ivdown on Apr 7, 2010 7:35 PM PDT up reply actions

Are they really pals?

by delias man on Apr 7, 2010 7:34 PM PDT reply actions

Loney, Blake, DeMVP

get on. 55 with a Grand Blast.

Crazy Donnely in

Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen

by Phil Gurnee on Apr 7, 2010 7:35 PM PDT reply actions

The last you could do is take it in the foot for the team since you aren’t hitting, lol.

by Ivdown on Apr 7, 2010 7:36 PM PDT reply actions

Donnelly always looks like he has no idea where it is going once it leaves his hand

by delias man on Apr 7, 2010 7:36 PM PDT reply actions

Reminds me of Fetters

I freaking loved Fetters.

J-Mac vs. Derek Holland in AAA tomorrow night. MARQUEE match-up.

by silverwidow on Apr 7, 2010 7:37 PM PDT reply actions

Holland back in AAA? After being in the majors and having a terrible looking season all 2009 they send him to AAA now? Hmm, weird.

by Ivdown on Apr 7, 2010 7:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Is that really Tron's beard?

That’s enough facial hair for him and Blake, And Dewitt.

BUNT sacrifice from Casey.

Not a huge fan of the 2-0 bunt with a good fastball hitter at the plate.

with first base open

I’m still waiting for the overwhelming evidence that Torre is a good manager

by StolenMonkey86 on Apr 7, 2010 7:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Whats wrong with Brox?

Nevermind the dumbass Pirates announcers had me confused

by vadodger on Apr 7, 2010 7:43 PM PDT up reply actions

Nothing

Cmon russ. Be a hero, kid, be a hero.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 7, 2010 7:43 PM PDT reply actions

If Russ can't do anything here

I fear for the offense with the ineptitude since the 5th, lol.

What about the Pirates, who haven’t scored since the 1st?

by Eric Stephen on Apr 7, 2010 7:44 PM PDT up reply actions

They aren’t supposed to. Duh.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 7, 2010 7:45 PM PDT up reply actions

So if they’re terrible, why have fear?

by Eric Stephen on Apr 7, 2010 7:46 PM PDT up reply actions

Because this game looks like it’s going to go 25 innings, lol.

by Ivdown on Apr 7, 2010 7:46 PM PDT up reply actions

I’m not in some “we’re done for the year after game two!!!” mode, I’m just a tad frustrated.

If Belliard delivers, we see Broxton. If not – Ortiz.

so basically if he doesn’t deliver – we lose.

Loney just stole 3rd. WOW!!!!

by silverwidow on Apr 7, 2010 7:49 PM PDT reply actions

You know that old adage that a team with two quarterbacks doesn’t really have one?

That’s how I feel about the split screen. Two games on a split screen, with graphics = 0

Hopefully this spells the end of Ramon Ortiz.

by oshea2002 on Apr 7, 2010 7:58 PM PDT reply actions

It sets up another DP opportunity.

Or another chance for DeWitt to kick it, anyway.

The Clippers suck

They got it to 15-14, scored like 8 straight, then barely missed a dunk for the lead, and now they are down 22-14.

Well I'm sold

Ramon totally learned out to pitch in Japan.

by EMDarrow on Apr 7, 2010 8:01 PM PDT reply actions

He had a great spring@

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 7, 2010 8:08 PM PDT up reply actions

He certainly pitched better than almost every pitcher the Dodgers had pitch more than 2 IP

Again, Ortiz probably should not have had to pitch if other people do the job. He’s like the 6th reason the Dodgers lost today.

by bhsportsguy on Apr 7, 2010 8:08 PM PDT up reply actions

Obviously, the game should have been over before he came in. The point is that he is still Ramon Ortiz, and 20 innings of ST doesnt change that fact. He shouldnt be on this team when there are more capable pitchers behind him.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 7, 2010 8:09 PM PDT up reply actions

by sarcastro9 on Apr 7, 2010 8:07 PM PDT reply actions

So when are Kuo and Belisario back?

Rudimentary creatures of flesh and blood, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.

by nolander on Apr 7, 2010 8:08 PM PDT reply actions

I’m very pissed at torre for not using broxton. Extend the game when it is tied, dont throw out garbage like ortiz.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 7, 2010 8:08 PM PDT reply actions

But don't forget Kershaw

burned out after 4 2/3 forced the team to use Weaver for one batter, the Dodger s can’t get a hit with RISP. When you lose a game with your 6th pitcher in extra innings, it is not all that guy’s fault.

by bhsportsguy on Apr 7, 2010 8:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Not at all. Situational hitting tonight was a complete joke. And Kershaw needs to throw strikes, period. I blame both of those more than Ortiz. It doesn’t change the fact that Ortiz completely sucks and has no business on an ML roster.

by oshea2002 on Apr 7, 2010 8:11 PM PDT up reply actions

Again, thats not the point. With 2 on and 1 out in the bottom of the 10th, the managers job is to give the team the best chance to win. no matter how the runners got where they did, Broxton coming in gives the team the best chance to extend the game. Even by using Broxton, Monk and Haeger are still left, which is fine for the rest of the night. You have to extend the game, and leaving in Ortiz was just the wrong decision.

by UCLADodger32 on Apr 7, 2010 8:16 PM PDT up reply actions

I understand your point

But you are asking for something that no manager in baseball ever does, certainly not in game 2 of the season.

by bhsportsguy on Apr 7, 2010 8:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Just because no manager does it (which is not completely true) doesnt mean it is correct. It is still a huge mistake that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Only 2 games, but for a team that got shit on all offseason (some fair, some not fair) and has been written off by many, losing two games to the piece of shit Pirates is not encouraging.

People who actually don’t know anything about this team annoy the shit out of me because they think since the Dodgers didn’t improve they are worse.

Watching this start to the season, the Lakers’ struggles, or the cowards that ran out there for the USC football team this past year.
