Minor League Update 05/15/10 - Hoffmann continues to Rake
AAA –James McDonald did nothing to lay claim to his spot in the rotation as he gave up 10 hits and seven in wild 12 - 11 loss. The Isotope offense came to play with eight players getting multiple hits and four of them (Hoffmann, Mitchell, Lindsey, May) getting three hits. I've given Jamie Hoffmann some grief over the fact he's only taken one walk this year but I have to say when he swings he's the hottest hitter in the league. Over his last ten games he's 20 for 42 good for a STL of .476/.500/.714. That is a 1.214 OPS.
AA - Our two best relief prospect both didn't get the job done yesterday. Kenley Jansen in his first AA appearance faced three batters and got one out. He got the first out on a pop up then gave up a single and walk before being replaced by St. Clair. St. Clair got the last out to end the inning saving Jansen from any earned runs. However in the next inning St. Clair gave up four hits before being bailed out by Eric Krebs. Offensively no one did anything of interest. Gordon went 0 for 5 and made his 10th error.
High A –Charlie Haeger made a rehab start and went five mediocre innings. The 66er's were shut out and are close to being the worse team in the entire leagues.
A – 14 inning thriller with the Loons scoring two in the bottom of the 14th win the game on two run double by Christian Lara. Justin Miller pitched five shutout relief innings of one hit ball. The starting outfield of Sands/Smith/Songco each had two singles.
