The New York Yankees are once again witnessing a failing Vazquez that simply cannot produce anything in pinstripes.
So, since the Yankees aren't too shallow on money anyhow, why not go after Vazquez while desiring the Yanks to pay for most/a nice portion of his contract? They wouldn't mind some prospects (they'll just somehow package them later on for some major trade) because their farm system could use some replenishment.
While Kuroda, Kershaw, and Billingsley offer the Dodgers some nice pitching, the rest of the order is still fishy especially with Padilla out (even with him in..). Ely has performed admirably but we need to look at season-long options as well as playoff options. Vazquez, when not a Yankee, puts up some pretty nice numbers. I would see this as a win-win for both teams?
