Minor League Update 5/23/10 - Trayvon Rings Twice

Pair of blue chip outfield prospects blasted two home runs tonight leading their respective teams to victory.

AAAJon Link pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the extra inning win in relief of Josh Lindblom. Lindblom is not quite on the Towers path of glory but he has given up 16 earned runs in his last 15 innings. The ball has been flying lately and while old timer John Lindsey is doing the bulk of the hitting, Russ Mitchell and Jamie Hoffman have been big contributors. Lindsey is now hitting a ridiculous .430 on the season. Someone give this man 100 major league at bats. Somebody, huh, please, come on, this ain't right.

AA - The anemic Lookout offense exploded Monday Night and Trayvon Robinson was the cannon with two booming home runs. Dee Gordon chipped in four singles with two stolen bases as the super star to be was simply unstoppable. As befitting a 9 - 7 score the pitching sucked but who cares, with apologies to Mario, Tim, Krebs, and Pfeiffer it didn't include anyone we care about. That may be to broad. It didn't include anyone I care about.

High A – Player of the Week, Kyle Russell slugged two more home runs giving him six in six games, driving in three of the 66ers four runs. Charlie Haeger gets ready to win the over sailing through six innings.

A – Brett Wallach struggled but the ball was flying everywhere tonight. He ended up with the victory even though he gave up six earned runs. Justin Miller pitched 3 2/3 innings for the long save. Sandman hit another home run. That is 15. In 44 games. Sands can hit, Austin Gallagher or Caseras can't, why are we dicking around with them at 1st base, instead of Sands?
