Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS -- An NBA player and former Marion basketball standout has been implicated in an Indianapolis drug investigation.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a trusted police informant identified Memphis Grizzlies player Zach Randolph as a major marijuana supplier in Indianapolis, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.

I expected to get needled on the Clippers website but am a bit surprised to find it on this page. I don’t understand why you would think this some way validates your opinion on Randolph and exposes me. I’ve never vouched for Zach Randolph as a person. I don’t know the man and I realize that he’s had some trouble off the court in the years he’s been in the league. I’ve only commented on his ability to, you know, play basketball— an ability that I think up until last year was one of the most underrated players in the league particularly because of his off the court issues. I wouldn’t be asking Zach Randolph to babysit my kids any time soon.

What are you trying to acheive with this post? Are you trying to point out that Randolph is a bad person? Okay, then fine. But our debates WRT have never focused on off-court issues instead they have been based on his abilities and your absurd claims that Marcus Camby is a better basketball player.

This post isn’t just off-topic for a baseball page, its off-topic in terms of the scope of our previous discussions involving Randolph.

Oh come on, character counts. this kind of character counts. Who cares if he’s a dick in the clubhouse like certain players are on the current Dodgers team. Being an active drug deal while he’s still on the Clippers would just bring more bad PR to the Clippers. Maybe Randolph is the better player, but that doesn’t mean crap if he’s in prison for running a pot ring.

As who were better, apprently none of them since they both got traded away for pennies on the dollar.

Okay, whatever. I don’t know Randolph, I didn’t know he was a drug dealer, I only knew his ability to play basketball. I must have missed the part in our several debates where you thought Randolph’s ability to play basketball would be limited by his incarceration.

I’m not saying that it is okay to tolerate a freaking drug dealer. Your jab about me being his biggest fan was completely disingenuous. I never represented he was a good person, and absolutely nobody, even the biggest Zbo basher, would have thought the guy was Avon Barksdale.

I just hope Tripon won’t be teaching spelling or grammar when he gets that teaching job. :)

Dang

I just read this, I think we have enough Clipper fans on TBLA to post something like this here. What is up with guys making that kind of money and also delving into the dark arts. This is fucking crazy shit.

FWIW

Randolph, who was not in the vehicle, has not been arrested and “adamantly denies” any involvement with drug activity, his attorney, John Tompkins, said Thursday

Not that Randolph would come out and say that he’s guilty, but still. Also, last time everyone reported that Zach was charged with a DUI; people barely mentioned the fact that he was later acquitted. Obviously, I have no idea what the true story is, but in this case he hasn’t even been charged.
