5/30/10 MiLB Dodger Report - Webster / Jansen Rule the Day

AAA –Isotopes lose 5 -3 but Jon Link pitched two brilliant relief innings of one hit shutout ball with three punchouts, and zero walks. With the German on his way to LA, Link must continue to impress to be next in line. Lindsey hit another home run, and Ivan DeJesus has a nice nine game hitting streak going.

AA –Mario Alvarez pitches six solid innings giving up only one earned run, but it was Kenley Jansen who again stole the show. Jansen struck out four of the seven batters he faced, the only batter to get on base was walked. It took Jansen a few games to get acclimated to the AA hitters but he seems to be doing just fine right now. In his last three outing he's faced 18 batters, given up two hits, walked one, and struck out eight. Dee Gordon continued his onslaught getting two more hits giving him a .350 average over his last ten games. Trayvon Robinson hit a home run and drove in two runs.

High A – 66ers win 7 - 6 and survived the rocky return of Boothe from the DL. Boothe relieved Walter and gave up three earned runs while recording only one out. Alfredo Silverio also returned from the DL, and collected a triple in his four at bats. Austin Gallagher had three hits including a double. Kyle Russell had one hit, two walks, and stole two bases.

A –Allen Webster continue the string of masterful games from Loon pitchers. He threw seven shutout innings, giving up only four hits and one walk. Smith closed out the shutout by hurling the 8th and 9th. The offense in the 6 - 0 victory was provided by Jamie Ortiz who clubbed his third home run. Jerry Sands collected only his 2nd hit in his last six games.
