Eh, we’ll see. The whole “QB is down when touched” didnt do Prince any good, and our best WR was out (Josh Smith). I also think the 2 frosh rb will get a lot of pt, so there was a bunch missing. I’m actually excited to the revolver with some of the speed we have.

Jim (Vermont)

Vasquez and Montero for Kemp. Reasonable? Possible?
Jerry Crasnick
  (12:16 PM)

Jim, This is a real trade proposal, I take it? I can’t see the Dodgers going for that one. Matt Kemp is one of their franchise faces. Javier Vazquez turns 34 and he’s having a terrible season, and a lot of people think Montero is a DH. It doesn’t work for LA.

true, but if he doesn’t have to swing at the pitch on the outer half, we may get another result on another pitch.

Who is hurt? Gameday says injury delay

by keithc13 on May 5, 2010 9:57 PM PDT reply actions

Inter should win the CL Final...

They shut down Messi and Xavi in the semifinals…
They have a great offensive team with Eto’o, Milito, Balotelli, Pandev, Stankovic and Sneijder… But Sneijder has hurt his knee tonight again AS Roma, so he couldn’t play the CL Final, it would be a big loss for them as Manny for the Dodgers…
Inter has ont of the best GK in the league (Julio Cesar) and a great defense…
Bayern has played very well in the recent weeks despite the Ribery Gate as Kobe Bryant in the past… Olic and Robben has been on fire… The weakness is their goalkeeper, hes the worst GK in Europe… And, don’t forget Van Gaal, an outstanding coach as Guus Hiddink or Dick Advocaat…
BTW, Ribery is suspended for the CL Final

Probable lineup:

Inter: Julio Cesar – Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Chiuvu – Cambiasso, Zanetti, Sneijder, Stankovic- Milito, Eto’o
Bayern: Butt – Lahm, Van Buyten, De Michelis, Contento – Van Bommel, Schweinsteiger, Robben, Altintop – Muller, Olic

I bet a 2-1 win for Inter…

Last night I texted Phil in the third inning or so

“Wow, this game sucks.”

It still applies.

The Brewers could be merciful and DFA him while their in his home town and save him a trip.

Well at least I didn’t blow off the gym again for this crap. I don’t know how Pirates/Royals/Orioles fans put up with this shit every year. Baseball sure is a lot more enjoyable when your team is winning.

by Mike Dennis on May 5, 2010 10:33 PM PDT reply actions

More frustrating, maybe. This team has waaaay too much talent to be this bad.

by prosellis on May 5, 2010 10:35 PM PDT up reply actions

I suggested above that it might be, but maybe that's overstatement.

On the other hand, they only lost 91 in ’05.

feels like it

this is worse because I actually like the team. the team in 05 was a bunch of shitbags.

started out 13 -2 or something like that

which just shows how bad they were for the rest of they year

Now if Andre breaks his wrist like Drew did then all bets are off

Billingsley knuckled down and pitched 5 scoreless innings

after it looked like he was going to get the shit kicked out of him in the 1st. Granted, that was an hour and a half ago.

What's worse is that this may be Scully's last season.

Who knows for sure, really, but it is the elephant in the room.

by Dr. Geek on May 5, 2010 10:38 PM PDT reply actions

If this whole year is like this (science forbid) it will be worse than 05. 05 We lost because were playing Jason Fucking Grabowski and Jason Phillips batting cleanup and all that shit. If we suck this year it means “the core” mostly failed us. Kershaw and Billingsley coming undone will suck far more than HSC getting screwed.

Go to baseball-reference.com

they have game logs from every year. Easy to look it up that way.

by hee came hee seop'd he choi'd on May 5, 2010 11:20 PM PDT up reply actions

Also, why is first base such a positional curse for us? What’s the best we’ve had outside of a couple decent years from Eric Karros? It’s gotta be about 20 years at least since we had a first basemen worth giving a shit about. Eddie Murray in 1990?

by Mike Dennis on May 5, 2010 10:50 PM PDT reply actions

Murray, Loney, Karros and Nomar are the only Dodgers to play 150 or more games at 1B in the last 20 years. If you drop to 100 games, you add Shawn Green, Olmedo “The Killer Tomato” Saenz, and Hee Seop Choi.

reflections

Garrett Anderson got a hit. That should guarantee his useless butt another 100 plate appearances. Mark Sweeney all over again.
Why does our allegedly lights out bull pen get regularly bitch slapped and we can’t hit guys with 8 era’s?
We signed Travis Denker. Can we get rid of Nick Green now?

first base

Hey Mike, Loney’s about the only guy on the team hitting in the clutch, so what’s your beef?

We’ve had some flashes there, Loney occasionally remembers how to hit, Garciaparra had that nice first half run, Karros’ hair had a few decent years, but we never seem to have that masher over there like a Pujols, Fielder, Howard, Delgado, Bagwell that sort of thing.

im going to need to call my friend in the liver transplant department @ cedars if this shit keeps up........

i feel like we’re buying magic beans or something.

“just wait till manny comes back, we’ll be fine”
“just wait till raffy comes back, we’ll be fine”

hey ned – FUCK YOU. 2005 was bad. me and my girlfriend at the time broke up and the dodgers sucked.

this year’s team makes 2005 as a year look like a walk in the park. its like watching a will ferrel comedy – lot of hype, waste of time.
i will say this though, its nice to have fans like myself who love the team on this site. you guys rock! make the season tolerable
