Shouldn’t “IRBAY” be “BIRAY”? :)

Dodgers have now allowed 11+ runs two games in a row 9 times in LA. They have one streak of 3 (in 2000) http://bbref.com/pi/shareit/hccFx

by Eric Stephen on May 5, 2010 11:09 PM PDT reply actions

The starters for those three games were Gagne, Park and Carlos Perez. Perez actually had a quality start, but Orel blew a 12th inning save by allowing five runs, including a walk-off slam by Damian Miller. Orel hit the DL after that, and made only three more major-league appearances. The winning pitcher in that last game was a young Vicente Padilla, who allowed one run in two innings and was in line to take the loss.

That first game was also extra innings. Jeff Shaw and Alan Mills combined to allow 7 runs in the top of the 10th. 40 runs allowed in three games, so the Dodgers need to allow 18 tomorrow to match that.

I wonder how many people realized you have this post up in not Pig Latin?

For some reason I can’t stop laughing when I see Dustin Pedroia say “laser show” tonight (before the game, talking about himself in 2007 vs David Ortiz now). It’s probably because of the 2K10 commercial.

This link is to MLB 09: The Show, which is an AWESOME game and series.

The MLB 2K series sucks, though.

Hah yeh

My brain melted there. Show is actually awesome. 2K is absolutely horrible.

I went to bed after the Counsell RBI single. It was almost 1 AM on the east coast at that point and I thought maybe I would miss a rousing comeback. Boy am I glad I went to bed.

While I appreciate the effort this must have taken...

I was looking forward to commiserating with fellow fans in English this morning. Is there some place I can read this post where I can, you know, read it?

This is amazing.

Please tell me...

…that you used a translation tool and didn’t do that freehand. If you did it freehand, I’ll file this under “Way too much time on hands”.

With that said, boys I’m afraid I’m going to have to take a bit of a break for a few days. I can’t watch the Dodgers right now. I feel like my relationship w/the team is in a rut and we both need to take a break for a few days and see where this thing is going. (Of course, the Dodgers started their “break” a few days earlier than I did.)

I’ll give them the weekend and check back in next week.

by KellyStephen on May 6, 2010 7:10 AM PDT reply actions

A combo

I mostly used the translation tool, but wanted the links to remain the same so I had to a ton of cut & pasting.

by Eric Stephen on May 6, 2010 8:23 AM PDT up reply actions

Eric, You're nuts and this was

as painful as watching this team this year. I understand the deeper meaning since their is NOTHING that makes sense about the team this year. I just read Jon’s article and we’ll, NOTHING makes sense about the team this year. Did I say nothing makes sense about the team this year?

too geeky

sorry but this was definitely lame. ive enjoyed most of the articles on this site for a while now, but yikes. are the articles written for the thousands(?) who stop by to get the basic info and a little insight or for the amusement of the writer (and a few others)? guaranteed 99% of people didnt translate. sorry for the negativity, just wanted you to get another opinion….

by mcdisease on May 6, 2010 2:48 PM PDT reply actions

There is a link to the English version for those too lazy and/or with a stick up their ass.

by Eric Stephen on May 6, 2010 2:49 PM PDT up reply actions

i didnt see the link

was it easy to find? does not wanting to translate several paragraphs of pig latin mean im “lazy” or have a “stick up their ass”? obviously it doesnt. so, your response only served to demonstrate that you were butthurt about my little criticism. i couldnt do what you guys do as far as getting info to the fans, but i do read this site daily and wanted to offer my 2 cents. sorry i did… i wonder if youll ever do pig latin again???….

by mcdisease on May 6, 2010 8:09 PM PDT up reply actions

Unless you have your browser set up weird, all links are highlighted in some way. (I see the linked text bold and blue.) Pointing at the links displays the location of the link – for me on the bottom bar of my browser window. You’d find it quickly enough.

Or, five seconds of google searching would find you one of many Pig Latin to English translators (I kid you not). A simple copy and paste and button click, even one paragraph at a time, wouldn’t take long at all. (But you wouldn’t have to do that very long to find the link to the English version either.)

More than 1% of readers on the internet would use one of the methods I described above. What I don’t understand is why you don’t see any of the fun in this?

Given how little anyone gets paid here – zero or extremely close to it – both.
