Strike 3!
or it SHOULD HAVE been.
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
And there's another strike 3!

Kemp robbed on that one
Didn’t think he’d have a chance on the throw

99? Yipes.

I was talking with Thomas Harding, the Rockies’ beat guy for MLB.com, and he said Ubaldo was at 98 in the 9th inning of his no-hitter, and that he threw from the stretch from the 4th inning on in that game. Wow.
The only thing I'd worry about if I was a Rockies fan
would be Tracy’s handling of him. bu if he’s a freak of nature then they are blessed. But watching Tracy let his young starter throw 120 yesterday in a rout was almost sickening to me.

No pink bat for DeWitt either.
It looks like the pink bat users today are:
Rockies
Helton
Tulo
Stewart
Olivo
Dodgers
Martin
Ethier
Loney
Maybe he remembered at first base and was running back to get it.

Astros tied the Padres and they're in extra innings
just FYI

Kershaw settling down
17 strikes, 7 balls in the last 2 innings (after 16/14 in the 1st)
Still no balls hit out of the infield
Woo hoo!
DeWitt hustle and a deflection and we get a run! Hope Kershaw can make that hold up. ;-)

Just clicked into to see DeWitt score what happened?

And crap bunt

Yupp ball was not in the air very long

Not everyone has a Juan Pierre on the bench to pinch bunt

Fail
No problem, just keep pitching like you have the last two innings
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Dodgers I'm particulary sick of right now are Martin and Kemp

Giants win 6-5 and Padres still tied in extras, Houston threatening

They are going to winwhen Timmy is pitching, at least let him get the win (yes, I own him on my one fantasy team)
Dang I turned it off when the took the lead in the 7th, thought the Mets had it in the bag

The Mets Blowpen gave up a 2 run homer to
Aaron Rowand, alas.

Jamie Carrol is this years Juan Pierre!
Not a bad job filling in for Furcal. Too lazy to post his sats though.
Hey is the pussy bunt single the only hit for the Rockies?
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
apparently yes
Rudimentary creatures of flesh and blood, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
How the hell did those Tulo / Longoria / Weaver teams not make the CWS? I remember one year they lost to Zona in the Super Regional, and the next year (sans Weaver) they didn’t get out of their own sub-regional that SC won.
Just guessing that Weaver was the only great pitcher
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Looked it up
2004 Team
Weaver, Tulo, Vargas, Bowker, Ramos – all MLB players
2005 Team
Lost Weaver, Vargas, Bowker, added Longoria and Estrada
Minor League FYI
Inland Empire has added RHP Josh Walter and RHP Javier Solano from Extended Spring
LHP Geison Aguasviva and RHP Edwin Contreras have been sent down to Extended Spring
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Imagine if Colorado gets Cliff Lee for Jhoulys Chacin in a blockbuster July trade? That would be crazy.
I think that Seattle should make a trade with us that would consist of Haeger and Ramon Ortiz for Cliff Lee
I thought were gonna use them to trade for
Zack Gronick!

How's Jonathan Albaladejo faring for the Yankees?
’cause I wonder if they regret that trade.

I assume Haeger-to-DL will be announced after the game? It would make sense to have Ely in the dugout before tomorrow’s game.
Yep
I believed he stubbed his toe, er I mean hurt his heel before the Suckfest yesterday. So to the Phantom DL he goes.

Loney is interesting
Today I was looking at average pitches per at-bat for the Dodgers and other players. Turns out Loney averages 4 pitches in most situations but this season has averaged 6 pitches with the the bases loaded. It’s a small sample size of course but it’s still something to think about as far as his plate discipline goes…
This is My Town gimmick is strange to me. Do any other MLB teams have all of these theme nights like this?
I think they do it to try and give poeple incentive to sit in the worst seats in the ballpark haha
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
C’mon clayton. You’ve pitched so well the last 4 innings and then walk a guy that poses no threat to you.
Sweet pick off Kid K!

Joe Torre called me by name today
during the pregame meet with media, he singled out Tony Jackson and I (we both specifically named Ely as Tuesday starter) for “having a handle” on the current pitching rotation situation.

Impressive
I’ve only hear him call TJ and Plaschke by name before
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
How is this for phrasing?
I asked the following question:
“Hypothetically, if Haeger goes on the DL, and hypothetically, if Ely starts Tuesday, you will need another starter next weekend in San Diego. Are you comfortable with Monasterios and/or Ortiz starting if needed?”
Wow. Your Virginia Tech equivalent can’t even get press credentials because “the internet is out of control” according to the AD.

The Indians opened up a section in LF for “social media” to cover the game (there is a table and a monitor for them).
The Rockies response to bloggers was, “We’re not the Dodgers, we’re not the Indians. We’re the Rockies.”
What does that even mean?
Rockies’ fans don’t read blogs? The team doesn’t respect them? Huh…

Especially since it doesn't appear serious
then it seems acceptable ;-)
1 to 0 is a very nervous tenuous lead though.

Does he go 7 or make it 8IP? If we have a big inning in the bottom of the 6th the pitcher’s spot could come up.
Curse that 1st inning!
{shakes fist}

Ridiculously great so far
after the first.
Nothing hit out of the infield all day
7 strikeouts
5 infield pops
5 groundouts
2 infield singles
Rockies are a good matchup for him...they are lefty dominated..
All their power is from the left side except for Tulo (now out of the game).
Hawpe, Helton, Cargo, Stewart
KKKKKKKershaw!

First OAK perfect game since Hunter. I was at the A’s Dodgers game when they retired Catfish Hunter’s jersey. I could write a book about that day.
reverse-Steiner from Steiner
went something like:
“There’s a fly ball, but it’s gonna stay in the ballpark, I think…I think not!”
Much more satisfying than a regular-Steiner!
He is so bad. I’ve listen on the radio for maybe 5 innings the whole season, and twice Steiner has done the “SWING AND A MISS FOR STRIKE THREE….oh, he fouled it off.”
yeah, he's done it twice THIS WEEKEND
I think he regressed this year. he gets flummoxed a lot these days
wow I thought that was ripped for a second, great win though
