The Drive For Five: Game 7 Open Thread

Kobe Bryant has scored 5,029 point in the playoffs in his career, an average of 25.5 points per game.

Game Sevens don't come along very often, so each one should be cherished.

It has come down to one game for all the marbles, between the two greatest franchises in the history of the NBA, and the Lakers have home court advantage.

The Kobe-Gasol Lakers are 30-4 at home in the playoffs, and have outscored their opponents 105.0-94.7 at Staples Center.

I know the MGM had Lakers + 7.

-7?

I thought that it would be more like 4.5 to 5. That pretty high. I would play the Lakers.

by keithc13 on Jun 17, 2010 5:50 PM PDT up reply actions

good point

I would expect Bynum to play minimum minutes tonight. But without Perkins, the interior for Boston is either really old and likes to shoot fadeaways or really fat and won’t get away with the same shit in LA he was in Boston. 7 seems fair.

Yeah

We are getting shit on weather wise right now. It is funny that it hasn’t rained in Conway for about a week. Just been smokin hot. That weather report from above isn’t right. I just went outside and it is nice right now. No way it is above 90 right now.

Yeah

it usually is 5 degrees cooler in Fayettnam than the rest of the state. The Ozarks are the contributing factor. 100 miles west or south and it is smokin.

by Julio Nievas on Jun 17, 2010 7:01 PM PDT reply actions

A strategy that involves

passing off to Ron Artest every time is doomed to failure. Make the easy shots, make the free throws, and get a rotation going, and things will be better for the Lakers.

They will shoot better but they need to get some other guys involved, like Shannon Brown.

And yeah, Julio, there were fouls and both Farmar and Fisher that should NOT have been called. Let them play.

To who?

Near as I can tell, nobody else is exactly lighting it up either.

by EMDarrow on Jun 17, 2010 7:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Get the ball inside. Post someone up. When you get doubled, give the bal lup and let someone else create.

by UCLADodger32 on Jun 17, 2010 7:42 PM PDT up reply actions

So? Id rather have Artest take wide open jumpers than Kobe shooting fall away 20 footers with 4 hands in his face. Or, swing the ball to Artest and he can create with an open lane.

by UCLADodger32 on Jun 17, 2010 7:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Pau's game is all about finding space

Kobe should back down his man and Pau needs to move without the ball.

by Michael White on Jun 17, 2010 7:45 PM PDT up reply actions

I'd be fine with Kobe posting up himself

He just keeps shooting jumpers.

Post up, draw the double and Lakers need to slash to the basket

LAL needs high percentage shots

by Michael White on Jun 17, 2010 7:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Agree. If nobody can make shots, at least get the ball to the bigs where they can draw fouls and get boards.

The Cowboys have been a disappointment for a while now. They are making their way back, but not there yet.

Arkansas had a shot again in 1995, but ran into the O’Bannon boys. Oh and Toby Bailey played the best game he has ever played. Arkansas basketball is a joke now.
