Kobe passed me the ball
He never passed me the ball.
And the Zenmaster said “Don’t shoot the ball”

That Phil Jackson reference
was hillarious . .. Don’t shoot, don’t shoot!!

I just watched Prime 9- The greatest one sided trades. Good show. Here's the list
9. Jeff Bagwell for Larry Anderson
8. David Cone for Ed Hearn
7. Larry Bowa and Ryne Sanberg for Ivan DeJesus
6. Pete Harnish, Curt Schilling, and Steve Finley for Glenn Davis
5.Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio
4. Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe for Heathcliff Slocumb
3. Frank Robinson for Milt Pappas
2. Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi
1. Babe Ruth for $125,000
I was gonna argue for Pedro/Delino, but that’s an imposing list, a tough one to crack.

Glenn Davis
went to shit with the O’s. Think it said he had a neck injury. But he was legit when he got dealt.

Tough to crack a list full of HOFers or very near HOFers

I thought of a couple that were close
Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz
Steve Carlton for Rick Wise
Sammy Sosa and someone else (can’t remember) for George Bell
Bobby Abreu for Kevin Stocker
Someday, when he's broken records
My Andre being traded for Milton Bradley will be on that list
Look at that, he hit the f*cking bull! Guy gets a free steak!

After that trade was made
Milton Bradley would go on to have seasons where he posted an OPS+ of 154 and 161 (of course neither of those were with the A’s.) At this point Ethier hasn’t yes recorded an OPS+ that high for a full season as he posted OPS+ of 132 the past 2 seasons (he’s on track to beat it this year though.) I mean, the trade was bad for Oakland, but nowhere near that list.

The 154 was partly in Oakland, was for only 61 games
and was the year he infamously torn up his knee while being restrained by his Padres’ 1st base coach while going ballistic with an umpire. That season is a FAIL. The 161 is much more legit, though still only for 117 starts – leaving 45 starts for a secondary DH/4th OF type.

ABQ game is still going on. They gave up 4 in the 11th, but are rallying in the bottom of the inning! It’s 15-11

why is the soccer game at 7am? Someone make it not be so early please?
Rudimentary creatures of flesh and blood, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
I know the Celtics lost
but I did like the line used by Doc Rivers during the pregame, talking about years from now when they have a team reunion:
“When we shake hands, let’s make sure our rings touch.”
They didn’t get it done, but that was a great line.
Team of the 80's was on the other day as well
RF- Dwight Evans
CF- Dale Murphy
LF- Rickey Henderson
SS- Cal Ripken Jr
3B- Mike Schmidt
2B- Ryne Sandberg
1B- Don Matingly
C- Gary Carter
SP- Jack Morris
I have nothing to watch on my DVR except episodes of Prime 9 right now.
Awesome Night - we just got back from LA Live
We were in a restaurant bar in LA Live and watched the entire game. Place was packed and fans were chanting throughout – in the bar! Awesome, memorable night. I parked in the lot next to the burning car – it was only a handful of fools who did that. What I’d like to remember was the thousands of fans in downtown just so happy, hugging and high-five’ing strangers of all colors, sizes, and orientations. Made me love this city even more.
My fiancee asked me what a Dodger celebration would be like – we’ll have to wait and see…
I very much do not like the Lakers
But I appreciate Artest’s insanity. I spose it’s a reasonable tradeoff.
Yeah like I can sleep
Here’s Ron Artest’s presser from after the game. CLASSIC.
that was the best game I have ever attended Staples Center was the loudest I have ever witnessed for any sporting event. I can’t wait for the Dodgers to get to the World Series so I can experience it again
PS thank you Phill for selling me the tickets

On a Dodgers note
Frank hasn’t been paying Jamie the court-ordered million dollars per month. He says she owes him millions and he’s just going to offset the monthly against what she owes him.
(We now return you to your previously scheduled Lakers celebration. Please carry on as before.)
People don't think it be like this, but it do.
This is the best goddamn hangover I've ever had
I was partying with every Laker fan in NYC last night, and it carried on until 3 am. I’m at work this morning bleary-eyed, head pounding, sick to my stomach… and I couldn’t feel better!
The only thing sweeter would be a Dodgers title.

Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
A friend of mine had the best bet
1. Bet the Under – Win
2. Bet the Lakers for the series – Win
3. Bet the Celtic and points for the game – Win
So he got the Laker victory and the game because the Celtics covered on the Rondo wild ass three.
