Dodger MiLB Wrapup for 6/7/10 - Tim Sexton shows up

AAAIvan DeJesus had a perfect game with two singles, a double, and a walk giving him three, three hit games out of his last four. The Isotopes got pounded 20 - 7 as Brent Leach showed why he's a relief pitcher.

AA – We haven't talked much about Timothy Sexton this year but with outing like the one he had today, that is going to change. Sexton turns 23 on Thursday and he celebrated his birthday early by throwing six shutout innings, with 10 strikeouts. Sexton has now struck out 43 while walking only 13 giving him one of the best K/BB ratio in the minors. Kenley Jansen finished up the game with another scoreless inning. He wasn't his normal dominant self as he walked two with only one K.  Kyle Russell did not play.  Dee Gordon was held hit-less but still managed to get caught stealing twice.  That was the bad news, the good news was that he got on base via a walk twice.

High A -Ethan Martin simply should not pitch when I'm doing the updates. He gave up five runs in five innings along with eight hits. When Martin is not on he seems to get pounded. With Kyle Russell not in the lineup the offense was as anemic as expected, scoring only two pointless runs in the ninth, as they lost 8 - 2.

A -No Game
