he definitely deserves it

Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?

much deserved indeed, congrats raffy

William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.

Congrats Raffy!!!

You made us proud Lake Show! 2009 and 2010 BACK 2 BACK CHAMPS!

Hurrah!

Now what will I complain about? ;-) Seriously, it’s just an All Star Game but I was really perturbed he was overlooked while Jose Reyes was put on the team. And Omar Infante. This makes all right with the world. Or at least our little corner of it.

There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.

Withrow and Martin pulled early per Coolguy's minor league report

Both struggled, but withrow only went 1 inning and Martin 3, though they weren’t shelled, so I dont know why either went this early, unless….

Something to ponder over.

Can’t imagine they would both be traded or for who. Fingers crossed.

by Capt Obvious on Jul 10, 2010 11:07 PM PDT up reply actions

Yes, but if there was a trade close

and they are haggling over which one to include holding back both would make sense.

I was at the 66ers game. Martin was visited by the trainer in the 3rd but wasnt pullwd at the time. He didnt come out for the fourth, not sure what was wrong. He was very wild while he was in there.

Kuo now an AS

MSTI reporting Kuo has been added as well, per Dylan Hernandez

In a season that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened

by JB 8 on Jul 11, 2010 10:38 AM PDT reply actions

haha

well i guess we both caught this one

Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

by bucknellbruin on Jul 11, 2010 10:39 AM PDT up reply actions

I hope he comes in just as a LOOGY, and gets his man out in about 3-4 pitches. That won’t make him unavailable for the Dodgers 2 days later and could be highly impressive.

by berkowit28 on Jul 11, 2010 10:52 AM PDT up reply actions

According to Dylan Hernandez, Kuo is replacing Jason Heyward. Does that make sense? Heyward is an OF. Mind you, there were 8 OF’s listed, way too many, especially because there are also 4 1B listed, some of which – Adrian Gonzalez? – will surely be playing DH, leaving some of these OF’s nowhere to play. But it still makes Kup the 15th pitcher listed. Some of those won’t be playing for sure because they’re pitching today, so I think he’s really replacing a pitcher as far as possible playing time goes.

by berkowit28 on Jul 11, 2010 10:58 AM PDT up reply actions

I am so happy for him with all that he has been through.

by delias man on Jul 11, 2010 11:21 AM PDT up reply actions

Who is he replacing?

by Nolij on Jul 11, 2010 11:03 AM PDT reply actions

See above. Heyward is not a pitcher. (And according to MSTI, Billy Wagner was asked first but declined.)

by berkowit28 on Jul 11, 2010 11:09 AM PDT up reply actions

Corey Hart is replacing Heyward in the actual lineup.

by silverwidow on Jul 11, 2010 11:10 AM PDT up reply actions

But Hart is also a corner OF (RF for Brewers). Who’s actually going to play CF? I was sure they were going to play Marlon Byrd. Which of Braun, Ethier, Hart has played much CF,. does someone know? Well, we know who hasn’t.

by berkowit28 on Jul 11, 2010 11:17 AM PDT up reply actions

Why would some decline going to the AS game?

For practical purposes, couldn’t it be used as a bargaining chip when negotiating a salary?

by Jesse S. on Jul 11, 2010 11:15 AM PDT up reply actions

Injury. Ankle, I think. Maybe he’ll get listed anyway.

by berkowit28 on Jul 11, 2010 11:17 AM PDT up reply actions

Ah ok.

I wasn’t aware he was nursing an injury.

by Jesse S. on Jul 11, 2010 11:18 AM PDT up reply actions

I’m pretty sure this is Wagner’s final year anyway. He wanted to hit a couple of career milestones, and then hang it up.

People don't think it be like this, but it do.

by MartinGreen on Jul 11, 2010 11:20 AM PDT up reply actions

Found a quote from Wagner earlier this week. He’s committed to retirement.

by MartinGreen on Jul 11, 2010 11:24 AM PDT up reply actions

Hmm

Awesome for Kuo, but replacing a hitter? It would have made more sense to add a top hitter (Adam Dunn? Colby Rasmus), maybe a third catcher (Miguel Olivo?) or a second baseman (Dan Uggla?)

I’m not even sure Kuo is the best choice at relief pitcher (Billy Wagner? Jose Valverde?) But the biggest snub as far as I’m concerned is Mat Latos. He has been lights-out.

by Nolij on Jul 11, 2010 11:22 AM PDT up reply actions

It’s been mentioned already that Wagner was first chosen but decline to rest an injury.
