What kind of a name is Rubby? I don't know but if the hard throwing Rubby continues to pitch like this we won't care what his name is.
AAA – James McDonald is trying to make up for lost time. While John Ely gave the Dodger rotation a shot in the arm when they needed it most, he has been sent back to AAA, and the Dodgers will be looking for a new 5th starter after they come out of the break. James threw his hat into that ring with a six inning performance on Sunday. He only gave up four hits but he also walked four while striking out only two. Russ Mitchell hit his twelth home run to propel the Isotopes to the 2 - 1 victory. The versatile Mitchell continues to make his case that he could end up a useful player on a major league bench with his ability to play everywhere on the infield except SS.
AA –No Games
High A – Lead off hitter Manny Ramirez went 0 -3, and the rest of the team followed his lead by being shutout 4 - 0.
A –Rubby De La Rosa is taking up the slack of Webster with a sterling eight inning gem. Rubby walked none, gave up only three hits, and struck out six. In his last two games he has gone 14 innings, struck out 14, only walked three, given up two earned runs. Cavazos-Galvez slugged his fourth home run in his last eight games. Over his last 10 games he has a TSL of .500/.512/.975 with 20 hits in his last 40 at bats. The only negative is the one walk in those ten games. 22 year old Gonzaga Bulldog, Steven Ames collected his fifth save in the last ten Loon games. Aames showed up on June 30th and has yet to walk a batter in six innings while striking out 12 as he continues his 2009 trend of having a killer K/BB ratio while putting up serious K/9 ratios. I love this guys numbers.
Rookie Ogden –Garcia was held hit-less but Landry was not as he collected three hits. Seven out of the last nine games, Landry has had at least two hits. 23 year old 2009 18th round draft pick Greg Wilborn continued to dominate the Pioneer league going six innings, striking out nine, with zero walks.
Rookie Arizona –Game going on as I write this.
