i just got home to watch the highlights.

How did Braun not splinter his wrist on the diving catch?

I thought he broke his wrist for sure.

So just the world cup

Im glad the ASG is over. Now to focus back on real baseball

by EephusBlue on Jul 13, 2010 10:53 PM PDT reply actions

I'm glad that the NL won and that Brox got the save...

…but I hate that McCann got the game-winning hit. Now all the “lovely” Braves fans here in ATL are now crowing about they have home field advantage for the World Series. Yes, they think it’s that much of a foregone conclusion.

by avickjr on Jul 13, 2010 11:14 PM PDT reply actions

Let them

crow, wont’ do any good. It’s more of a nuisance how much hate Kuo got for botching that throw and how little respect Broxton seems to get. Talking about fans of other teams here.

by Capt Obvious on Jul 14, 2010 2:25 AM PDT up reply actions

What a game..

I was a little pissed(the boos were all in my face) when Kuo threw that ball away and was even more upset when Ethier was PH for.. but it all worked out. Those Angels fans are complete dicks by the way. If they are not old they are young and docuhey.
Fanfest and the HR derby were pretty meh.

Oh and one last thing, there were so many frecking kids with Angel and Giants gear on.. I was completely confused, thought I died and went to hell.

by NotJoeTorre on Jul 13, 2010 11:17 PM PDT reply actions

I love that last sentence, haha

I love how people say Angel fans are so great, I’ve seen just as many asshole Angel fans as asshole Dodger fans.

another thing about Brian Wilson

I knew the guy was intense, but I just heard him say about 3 sentences to Harold Renyolds, and I’m pretty positive he’s insane.

He was talking about his hair, and I’m paraphrasing:

It’s like a lion’s mane, i just woke up from my den and ready to pounce. It’s vicious, delicious, and says Good Night.

wow

Personally

Raffy’s health is too much of an unsure thing to give up a good backup for this year and next. If teams want to find controllable people, they should sign them to longer contracts.

I would be all for this if Hu were not hurt because getting a B prospect for Carroll would be a pretty good thing. That said, I have become pretty fond of Carroll.

Maybe we could get someone to bite on Belliard.

Shaun Garrison from Dodger Rumors

thinks the Dodgers should look into getting Dan Uggla

Thoughts?

by Tommy Blackjack on Jul 14, 2010 7:47 AM PDT reply actions

Yes

as with anything, depends on the price. I guess that line can pretty much be applied to just about anything.

by meercatjohn on Jul 14, 2010 7:51 AM PDT up reply actions

his contention is

that there’s a rumor the Rockies are interested, and they would said Barmes and a prospect. If it costs us Dewitt and a young pitcher, might be something for Ned to think about.

by Tommy Blackjack on Jul 14, 2010 7:54 AM PDT up reply actions

I’m not sure what Uggla’s contract is like, but from a talent perspective, the Dodgers would have to do that trade. Even with his crap defense, Uggla would outhit everybody else in the infield. I assume by young pitcher you mean minor leaguer….

by Michael White on Jul 14, 2010 8:01 AM PDT up reply actions

Marlins

can use Coughlan at 2nd base so I don’t think they would be that interested in DeWitt or Barmes. Since they are playing for the future moving Couglan to 2nd, and putting up the outfield of Stanton/Maybin/Ross is much more likely.

They could use bullpen help and a back end starter.

A blockbuster for Uggla/Nolasco would whet my appetite.

by meercatjohn on Jul 14, 2010 8:10 AM PDT up reply actions

this is true

but maybe put him at third when they trade Cantu.Uggla and Nolasco….hmmmmmmmm(strokes beard).

I know Ricky has got strike outs, but he’s having kind of down year isn’t he? Though I think he’s been good for a few months leading up the break, can someone confirm?

by Tommy Blackjack on Jul 14, 2010 8:14 AM PDT up reply actions

Uggla’s making at least 10 million next year, we aren’t gonna get him unless we can get Florida to kick in some cash…so we aren’t gonna get him.

by regfairfield on Jul 14, 2010 8:18 AM PDT up reply actions

That and we shouldn’t look like we’re actually trying to have the worst defense of all time.

by regfairfield on Jul 14, 2010 8:18 AM PDT up reply actions

Matt Dominguez is in AA

Maybe he’s not the 3B until 2012, but in Florida, things sometimes get rushed.

by David Young on Jul 14, 2010 9:08 AM PDT up reply actions

yes I did mean minor leaguer

Uggla is making $7.8 mill on the year, so I don’t know what’s left. Also, maybe the Dodgers could keep BDW and move him back to third.

by Tommy Blackjack on Jul 14, 2010 8:08 AM PDT up reply actions

Uggla would give us a great lineup, but DeWitt really isn’t doing that badly other than not hitting HRs. We should really focus our attention on getting a pitcher.

by OB12 on Jul 14, 2010 8:07 AM PDT up reply actions

I got nothing against Dewitt

though I know you’re not saying I do. I just think that if Uggla could potentially come that cheaply, then why not do it? Lock him up for a few years and have a big RH bat in the lineup after Manny’s gone.
