MiLB Dodger Recap 7-17 / James Baldwin Steals Six Bases

AAA Claudio Vargas and Ramon Troncoso combined to shutout Round Rock 3 - 0. Vargas did most of the heavy lifting by tossing seven brilliant innings, but Troncoso held up his end by finishing it with two solid innings.  Vargas has had two great games and one awful game. Gibbons slugged his 15th home run.

AA –Aaron Miller had a tough day, giving up six runs in only two innings as the Lookouts fell 6 - 5. Lambo went 0 - 4 continuing his putrid play since giving up getting high. Sands only had one hit but also collected a walk, and scored both times he got on base.

High A –Hey some offense from the 66ers. They banged out 15 hits, lead by Pedro Baez whose three singles drove in three of the 12 runs. Caseres hit a three run home run and drove in four runs, while Van Slyke had three hits, including two doubles. Will Savage continues to have a solid season for a guy plucked from the independent leagues winning his 9th game of the year.

A –The Loons scored two runs in the top of the 9th to win 6 - 5. Webster started but went only one inning, he was relieved by Pimentel who was touched up for five runs in five innings. Erickson led off the 3rd with a home run, and then with two out Songco and B Smith both went back to back.  Ortiz drove in the tying run, and Wise the winning run in the 9th.

Rookie Ogden –The Raptors also won in the top of the 9th by scoring four runs to win 5 - 2. Nick Akins is now a Raptor and he collected one his in his three at abats. Leon Landry got two more hits giving him six straight multi-hit games, and 15 hits in those six games. Garcia is still missing in action.

Rookie Arizona – The Dodgers ran wild in the 8 - 4 victory.  You might notice that 18 year old James Baldwin stole six bases but everyone was in on the action.

Miller's outing was a disaster

but when looking at the box score, take into account that it was raining throughout the entire game, and there was a long delay at the start.
