Hey Manny, can I borrow your glove? That is funny.
I’d rather hear him come with….“Hey Manny, can you get back in the lineup so I don’t have to play in LF?”
Cue the Hoff?
Per Jimmy Bramlett of LAist:
As for Reed Johnson, "we’re probably a little ways away with him," Torre said. "We’ll probably going to have to rehab him a little bit. Chances are he probably won’t reach Saturday which is the day is eligible [to come off the 15-day disabled list.]"
Sounds like Johnson will be out a tad longer than 15 days (although admittedly that quote is a little awkward).

dodgers should add this guy to the bullpen
since he has been trash in the NBA since 2008.

Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
Joe Torre continues to wear his hat like my dad used to. Barely fitting and sitting atop the head, not pulled down at all.
I have a buddy that is a Red Sox fan
I was at work the other day with my hat on like that and he yelled.. “Fix your hat, Torre!”
More (expected) news

Other gems: Broxton definitely out tonight and most likely not pitching tomorrow

Look at that, he hit the f*cking bull! Guy gets a free steak!
Bumgarner seems like a guy that the league will catch up to in time. sort of a different arm angle and he probably hides the ball well, but his stuff isnt anything special.
Been thinking that too. So far so good for him...
Maybe he’ll go all John Ely on them though. :-/
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
I havent seen him pitch a ton, but his fastball is by far his best pitch, while his offspeed stuff lags way behind. The ball probably gets on the hitter quicker than they expect from that angle, which leads to some pretty ugly swings right now. But the hitters always adjust.

Everytime you think how badly you want Frank McCourt gone, ask yourself how you would feel to have Donald Sterling instead.
Kenley Jansen is pitching :(
Which means a call up isn’t happening anytime soon.

Loved the pitch selection to Ishikawa much more than the pitch selection to Uribe (fast ball down the middle, probably wasn’t location he intended anyway). But terrific way to get out of it.

Slightly OT but... Charlie Steiner...
first time I’ve heard him in a month or so, forgot how irritating he is. He once again couldn’t call a home run properly (just as he calls home runs when they’re not), and is lax when something actually good happens for LA, like JMac’s strikeout there to end the inning. And just generally rambles on pointlessly. Sigh, I wanted to like him, I really did, but he just… isn’t that good.

Gammons is delusional
Like all Red Sox fans
People don't think it be like this, but it do.
That was ripped!
Was just about to suggest a rally thread. But! Raffy steps up.
Hey, a run! A run is something!

Andre needs to be the man he is in my heart
right, frakking, now
Look at that, he hit the f*cking bull! Guy gets a free steak!
Mota's up!

Damn
but in the words of Andre Ethier “I know my salary is pretty hefty, but I think it’s the going rate for a corner outfielder.”
When Captain Angry Pants is more level headed about trades then Peter Gammons, that’s a sad day

you’re just going to have to get him out of those angry pants. It is your sacred duty.

Since they both could be Captain Angry Pants
and I was impressed by both of them being level headed about an ersatz trade rumor, let me specify that it’s Andre’s pants I want into, not Dilbeck’s

Blake
so terrible the stadium graphic narrowed down his BA sample size to 2010 vs. Giants

Either way
we’ll blame you if it doesn’t work. ;-)
Or maybe now with the pitcher change?
Otherwise I vote next inning.

Now that Ive seem MadBum throw a full game, not too concerned about him going forward. Without the elite velo, hes a #3/4 type guy.
The Matt Cain of the future?

Without Cain's velocity...

Keep on hearing rumors of the Giants trading Sanchez. Taking one look at Bumgarner, and I’d keep Sanchez and try to deal Bumgarner the chance I get.
The only thing Bumgarner has over Sanchez is age and contract situation. Stuffwise, Sanchez blows him out of the water.

This would be salt in our wounds, Mota shutting the door this inning

Hell of a situation we got here. Two on, two out, your team down by one in the ninth. You got a chance to be a hero on national television… if you don’t blow it. By the way, saw your wife last night, hell of a dancer, you must be very, very proud. I mean that guy she was with, I’m sure he’s a close personal friend and all. But tell me, what was he doing wearing her panties on his head.
