Hey Manny, can I borrow your glove? That is funny.

I’d rather hear him come with….“Hey Manny, can you get back in the lineup so I don’t have to play in LF?”

Cue the Hoff?

Per Jimmy Bramlett of LAist:

As for Reed Johnson, "we’re probably a little ways away with him," Torre said. "We’ll probably going to have to rehab him a little bit. Chances are he probably won’t reach Saturday which is the day is eligible [to come off the 15-day disabled list.]"

Sounds like Johnson will be out a tad longer than 15 days (although admittedly that quote is a little awkward).

I havent seen him pitch a ton, but his fastball is by far his best pitch, while his offspeed stuff lags way behind. The ball probably gets on the hitter quicker than they expect from that angle, which leads to some pretty ugly swings right now. But the hitters always adjust.

Slightly OT but... Charlie Steiner...

first time I’ve heard him in a month or so, forgot how irritating he is. He once again couldn’t call a home run properly (just as he calls home runs when they’re not), and is lax when something actually good happens for LA, like JMac’s strikeout there to end the inning. And just generally rambles on pointlessly. Sigh, I wanted to like him, I really did, but he just… isn’t that good.

The Red Sox have been after Ethier for years. They wanted him for Manny back in 2008.

by Tripon on Jul 19, 2010 8:51 PM PDT up reply actions

He’ll be expensive starting next year, and has a giant hole in his game. I could see it happening.

Gammons? Definitely.

Oh, you meant Ethier.

Keep on hearing rumors of the Giants trading Sanchez. Taking one look at Bumgarner, and I’d keep Sanchez and try to deal Bumgarner the chance I get.

The only thing Bumgarner has over Sanchez is age and contract situation. Stuffwise, Sanchez blows him out of the water.

Hell of a situation we got here. Two on, two out, your team down by one in the ninth. You got a chance to be a hero on national television… if you don’t blow it. By the way, saw your wife last night, hell of a dancer, you must be very, very proud. I mean that guy she was with, I’m sure he’s a close personal friend and all. But tell me, what was he doing wearing her panties on his head.
