Diamondbacks 12, Dodgers 5
The shortest outing of Hiroki Kuroda's career (1 2/3 innings) gets the shortest game recap of the year.
Clayton Kershaw tomorrow, followed by Chad Billingsley Sunday. We can do this.
UPDATE: After the game, the Dodgers placed Manny Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list, per Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times. Xavier Paul was recalled from Albququerque to take his place on the roster.
WP - Edwin Jackson (6-6): 5 IP, 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts
LP - Hiroki Kuroda (7-6): 1 2/3 IP, 8 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts

Hahaha
totally appropriate
They say to never hit a man with a closed fist. But it is, on occasion, hilarious.
Eric,
You talk about an epic comeback, but the game recap is up 30 seconds after Loney grounds out. I question your believeability right now!
:)
Oh my god
Canadian guy and Scottish guy doing some commentating on FSC. Oh my god. It’s amazing. The vowls are flying!

and by 2-2, I meant 1-1.
And the Royals made that moot by adding a run, and are up 2-1

I get home to this?
We’ll get ‘em tomorrow… Sooner or later, they’ll remember they’re the LOLBacks…
Sex addiction? Two words=get married.
Its ok
Ethier is gonna go off, and so is Dewitt and Kemp. You’ll hardly even miss Manny’s stellar defense.
Rudimentary creatures of flesh and blood, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
I am not super bummed
If for no other reason than it means GA will get less playing time and likely there will be a platoon between Johnson and XP. My hope is XP goes apeshit and hits the crap outta the ball making management realize GA is worthless and needs to retire. Probably won’t happen but oh well. I can hope.
During yesterday’s broadcast, Vin Scully said that GA was 38 years old and not producing. Then he said, “At some point, management needs to make a decision.”
When Vin Scully says it’s time to go, it’s time to go.
People don't think it be like this, but it do.
What are you talking about?
That was a veteran single by Anderson in the 8th inning with the bases empty and the Dodgers only down by seven. It’s the kind of clutch scrappy veteran base hit that only a pro’s pro can come up with, just when the team needed it most. And then in a stunning surprise move that the D-Backs didn’t expect, he did something that only a crafty professional veteran would do—he stole second to put himself in scoring position to try and cut their lead to six.
I’m getting so sick of reading from you bloggers in your mother’s basements about how the team should “DFA” such a clutch player. Don’t you guys know that there are only about 50 or 60 players in the Los Angeles minor league system who can hit better than Garret Anderson? Remember that whenever Xavier Paul gets a double or triple, it isn’t nearly as effective as a Garret Anderson single. Base hits by Anderson are so rare that when they do happen, it has a chilling effect on the rest of the league. It shows all the other front offices that Ned Colletti MEANS BUSINESS and the Dodgers ARE NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH. Now when Xavier Paul comes back to the bigs while Manny is on the DL and has an “.850 OPS” with two or three inexperienced home runs over the next two weeks, it will give Ned another invaluable opportunity to give Xavier another life lesson by telling him to watch the veteran gamer Garret Anderson if he wants to know how to act like a major leaguer, before he sends him down to AAA again.
I’m sure all of you watched Anderson hustle down the line like a true professional on that lucky double play that Arizona turned tonight. That ball was in the hole between first and second, and after the second baseman snagged it and made a long throw to the shortstop, the shortstop bobbled it for less than two seconds before throwing Garret out by half a step. Did you see how close Anderson made that play? What hustle! An inexperienced player like Paul probably would have touched first base a few seconds before Anderson would have, and tried to advance to second on the throw to first. If he gets thrown out on a play like that, it would have a terrible effect on an inexperienced team like the Dodgers, who need Anderson’s proven invaluable veteran leadership.
I"m so sick of you bloggers.

Apparently I did it wrong with the title about Kemp, but the title should be “Garrett Anderson is Not Our Guy”…

Ok, I could be totally off here. I hope not though.
To me it seemed like “They” were OK with waiting out Manny for the weekend. The rapid DL trip, and recall of the the hot XP. Said to me. “They” aren’t OK with GA starting anymore. For example. Manny missing only 6 games with GA/Johnson starting is worse than… Manny missing 15 games with XP/Johnson starting. With the lefty starting most games. Or it could be that the injury was just worse than it seemed after the game. I might be putting to much into this, but it could be a good sign. If XP gets good playing time and plays well I think there is a REAL descent chance he is the one that stays when Manny returns. Futures development be damned. Am I just dreaming? Or does this sound at least a tiny bit plausible?
maybe..
maybe they were hoping that GA would hit like Carroll and Reed have recently and therefore not have to call up the hot prospect, because he isnt a veteran. Or they could have decided Manny really was going to miss enough time that it would be better to get an extra guy up and get Manny treatment in LA… With our FO, who knows…
