The Billingsley CG had nothing to do with who was in the dugout.
Broxton was unavailable that night, and they were trying to avoid using Kuo as well. If Billingsley had allowed a baserunner in the 9th, Kuo would have come in the game, whether Mattingly or Torre were managing.

Dickey looks freaking spectacular. The ability to change speeds on the knuckleball AND throw it for strikes will keep him in the league for a long time.
He ‘s already 35, I don’t know how long he can last even throwing a knuckler.

he should mix it in more often to confused the batters on whether the offspeed pitch is a slider or curveball and it makes him just that much better

I was doing yardwork for last couple of innings but shouting with glee
when Geronimo was pitching. Giddy-yup on that fastball!
Yeah that’s quite a bridge now, the good part of the pen: KJ + Kuo + Brox. Just need one more good arm and the bullpen is back to good again.

rubby de la rosa
his first AA start was good and bad…
4 innings 3 hits 0 runs 5 walks 2 Ks 8-2 GB-FB
good: GBs, only 3 hits, 0 runs
Bad: only 4 innings 5 walks only 2 Ks
We don't know who the player to be named later is yet in the Haren trade
and
A D’Backs official says that the PTBNL is “outstanding”, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
FWIW… so I guess too early to evaluate the trade (beyond the time needed to evaluate named players)
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
they say its not trout though
dan haren has a 4.60 era this season…
Oh I'd be beyond flabbergasted if it was Trout, I'm sure he's untouchable
but wonder who else it is…
And yeah Haren is hard to pin down but he’s still too good, and relatively young, to not fetch some blue chips. It’s another case of teams like the Dodgers probably asked for 2x as much as the trading team ends up with when trade goes down.
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
Looking at just ERA is a terrible way to evaluate a pitcher
Look at his ks, walks, innings, hits allowed, and hr allowed. His ks and walks are amazing, but he’s allowed a bunch of hits and a ton of homeruns. I think the homeruns will go down by a huge amount leaving that HR haven in Arizona.
"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"
yeah
his era is not very good this year though… and hes gonna do his yearly fading
Lol
I bet you he improves upon that ERA by .20 points by the end of the year, what do you think about that?
"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"
well its not that difficult for him to do that
