First team to get thrown 100 pitches, wins.

The Dodgers are easy to pitch to without Manny and Andre

A pitcher doesn’t have to throw the ball over the middle of the plate right now..there is nothing to fear

by SLC DODGER FAN on Jul 27, 2010 8:44 PM PDT reply actions

They have been easy to pitch to with Andre since the break

That ab by Kemp pissed me off. Garlands loopy curve is pretty awful, and Kemp acts like hes never seen the damn pitch before. Its okay not to swing the damn bat

Does the pitcher have to get the win?

The Dodgers won two straight Kevin Brown starts 1-0 on May 7 & May 12, 2001, but Brown only pitched 8 in the second one. Sheff won that game with a walk-off HR (I was there)

Last Dodger pitcher to pitch consecutive 1-0 shutouts

was Tim Belcher, who threw a 1-0 shutout in his last start of 1989, and his first game of 1990. He actually had three out of four games won by 1-0 shutout.

The last back-to-back Dodger with 1-0 shutouts in the same season was 1988 Orel, who turned the trick September 14 & 19 (his 3rd and 4th straight shutouts)

Who remembers the good Matt Kemp

It feels like it’s been 2 years since Matt Kemp has been decent for more than a 2 week stretch.

"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"

by Ivdown on Jul 27, 2010 8:46 PM PDT reply actions

He's been pretty good since the AS break, but that's been about 2 weeks

I’m just waiting for his average to drop to .260 again, then in 3 week he will hit 1 or 2 homeruns, get up to .265, then repeat the process.

"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"

by Ivdown on Jul 27, 2010 8:48 PM PDT up reply actions

He was Superman the first two weeks of the season. Since then has just been a big regression that he seemed to snap out of these last few weeks. He just has had a horrid last 2 at bats.

by UCLADodger32 on Jul 27, 2010 8:47 PM PDT up reply actions

What about this statement is not calm

Sure what I’m saying is hyperbole, but can you honestly sit here and defend Matt Kemp season, especially after watching that last at bat?

Remember how everyone was suggesting that Chad should be sent down to the minors or put in the bullpen after his third start of the season?

by Nofatmike on Jul 27, 2010 8:53 PM PDT reply actions

It turns out that another team could have claimed Bills if they tried to option him in April. But then, the Dodgers would pull him back.

The only position you can upgrade is LF

then what do you do with the player you traded for when Manny is ready to play? You make a deal for a LF to play two – three weeks? And what LF who is available would impact the team in such a way over the next 2 – 3 weeks that would not expect to start for the rest of the year?
