RT @VladimirShpunt When I working for Dodgers, Frank hire me to ‘Think blue.’ Glad he not owning Padres or he say ‘Think mustard & diarrhea’
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
Sherrill was squeezed on ball 2 imho

Doesn't matter on that ball
No one in baseball throws out the runner on that play.
#&!)#*&!)(#&*!#!
i hate those frickin Padre Special Hits.
And I don’t like watching Sherrill pitch.
And blah.,

the Dodgers are behind a bunch of teams...
that are better than them. I have higher hopes for winning the division.

Maybe Jeff Shaw

We might as well
Start rebuilding a little. Its going to be tough to compete for a championship prior to 2012? anyways the way things are going with this team at every level from players to ownership.
7 games out...
a horrible bullpen, an offense that can’t score, and I can’t help but feeling they are going to sell the future for mediocre players…. fml

I’ve never seen a team win on so many BS hits. loopers, seeing eye singles and jam shots all over the place
I like Cetera.
Deal with the devil, I'm telling ya.

Hard to blame Sherrill
his job really from this point on is a Loogy. I’m putting this one on Joe. Then again Joe probably assumed we wouldn’t score anyway.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Yep, agreed on both counts.
Hey, at least Broxton’s available tomorrow! :-/

It's tough
the Dodgers don’t have a day off until week from Monday. They have Monk pitching tomorrow and Bills on 3 days rest on Saturday (even if they get somebody in a trade).
Those are the things that Joe has to deal with in terms of managing this game.
Padilla lasting just 4 innings did not help matters.
Should Broxton pitched the 9th, sure. But George Sherrill was likely to pitch an inning today at some point, it just happened to be the 9th.
do not agree
bring sherrillin as last resort

You have
Broxton, Sherrill, Weaver and Schlcting left.
There are not a lot of good options when you know you need to pitch at least 2 more innings.
turns out the Dodgers didn’t need pithcers for two more innings in this case?

Broxton should have been brought in.
But Sherrill didn’t pitch horribly. Nothing was really ripped off him.
nothing ripped?
not the ball off beard’s wrist and on into LF?
not the ball that was just foul off third?
Sherrill repeat
not used properly

sherrill pitched decent the other day
griity veteran gamer
hence, he’s “back”
and the “book” joe keeps up his ass says no closer in a tie on the road
i hate that fucking stupid book
I agree
I blasted Sherril up top when it happened, but I feel kinda sorry for him.
He has been awful all year against RHers and Joe just keeps putting him in these situations.
It’s like sending a drunk to live with Brett Michaels during Season 3 of “Rock of Love”.
Leads to shitty results
Your team plays a close game
you use Jansen and Kuo
to bring in Sherrill?
WTF – we’ve seen the same results from Sherrill all season.
Torre … Hello Mr. Torre … are you awake???

Have to win 2 of three from Giants
with our offense in the toilet facing Lincecum, Zito, Cain. Should be a fun weekend.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
They can still make some ground in the Wild Card race. Seems like the West is out of reach unless the Padres fall apart down the stretch.
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
The four game series next week will give us a better idea. Still far too soon to throw in the towel.
We were against Latos and SD pen
Of course we’re not going to score runs.
But his game lineups and use of the bull pen are extremely frustrating.

It’s just really depressing when you think that if the Dodgers kept hitting the way they did in April we’d have won the division going away.
The Padres are 20 games over .500 no one would have won this division
going away, going against that record.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Ok, maybe not going away. But I have to think that if Manny and Ethier stay healthy, Kemp and Ethier continue to rip the cover off the ball and the rotation pitched like it is now at the beginning of the season, it’s a race and the one the Dodgers can win. Obviously that’s a lot to go right, but it’s what they would’ve needed to remain competitive. Which I guess is obvious.
With Philly loading up big time
I almost feel like winning the West will end up being more realistic than the wild card…depends if the giants make a splash
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
I agree...
losers of Reds/Cards and Braves/Phils look much better than the Dodgers. Still can’t help but feel Pads will come back to earth.
My twitter = @neufaustcan
See if that is true by Sunday night
they have an opportunity to knock completely out of the race this weekend.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Oh, I wouldn't be surprised if they did...
just the other teams seem more complete.
My twitter = @neufaustcan
Nice of everyone to blame Sherrill and Torre
when the only Dodgers to drive in a run today were a rare Loney HR and a rarer pinch hit from anybody, this time Garret Anderson.
If Ethier, Furcal and Kemp don’t have great August and September, the Dodgers don’t have a shot to win.
Bringing in Sherrill
to face Scott Hairston was none to bright. Hairston kills lefties, even good ones, the fact that George can’t get any RHH hitters out, you knew that we’d have a problem. Joe did have RH options, he did not use them. Sure the DOdgers offense failed again, but I don’t have a problem with blaming Joe for not thinking through his pitcher selection in the 9th inning. Sometimes the manager fails. and he did.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
I get this
but when you are tied, in the 9th, and we give up a run, you feel that everyone should jump on here and start in on how we should score more or blame the guy that just gave up the hit to lose?
I swear I get what you are saying, and I think you are right. But you do this every night. We get it man. We don’t fuckin score enough. But Loney, GA, Ethier, Kemp, and Furcal didn’t give up 2 hits in the 9th to lose.
I dont think people get upset when the best players fail...bc they are the best the Dodgers have..
So if Ethier/Kemp/Furcal dont succeed…its ok bc at least they tried.
Its when you lose without even using your best players, or you make dumb decisions, that really eat at people.

Blame to be spread around but it's true with the offense doing nothing for more than a week and anemic
these last two games you can blame the hitters as much as anyone. That and have a crummy back end of the bullpen. And Padilla’s short outing. And along with all that, not using Sherrill as a LOOGY. :-)
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
It was a team effort
Three hits, two runs, Padilla struggled, someone other than Broxton in the ninth, Pods in center where he’s played one game all year. The Dodgers just aren’t very good right now, from top to bottom.

So Blake Smith has been sucking dick for the last 10 games, but went 4-for-5 tonight.
Baseball is a weird game.
It is amazing what you can do when you get that dick out of your mouth

what was the other option besides sherrill to bring into the game???
we cant use brox cause we are on the road in a non save situation…
so who else???
other preferable options included
brox
travis schlicting
max schlicting
tom cruise
tim crews
/i know im a bad person
The chickens are coming home to roost
Not sure how that applies to anything, but I just felt like typing that.
78-84
or get some pitching now. Haren and Oswalt were stolen by the Angels and Phils. Any thought that the Dodgers were in on them?
Lilly, Westbrook, ???. The hard part about this season is with minimal effort (and minimal money) the Dodgers could have won the division easily.
